SOS today one of my students said "oh my god that's like this ao3 fanfic I read..." and I almost CRIED because part of me wanted to be like "....what fandoms do you read? 😍😀😄" and part of me wanted to be like "...what fandoms do you read? 😬😨😓"
So like... this is exactly why i teach the age I teach (littles). I could NOT HANDLE IT is I realized not only did a student participate in fanfiction... but there was a chance that they had read something that I had written.
I have shit out there from when I was a wee babe y'all. I have been reading and writing fanfic for over two decades. (truthfully, we're pushing three decades)
Look, I'm not sure how much action this is gonna get as this is a blog primarily to let folks know that this journal was mainly created to interact and engage with fandom, not for posting much in the way of my own personal thoughts. <3 kbai

Fjord opens with, “it’s pretty busy [in the port]. I’m thinking of sending a launch ahead while we wait to dock, to see if we can find [an inn]. Do you think [Eadwulf] should go on [the launch]?”
Jester bites her lip. Her nose wrinkles, and she finally shakes her head, “I don’t know.”
“Babe?” Fjord touches his knuckles to Eadwulf’s temple. No dangerous fever, not right now at least, as he’s had a strange fever that comes and goes in waves. Eadwulf says it’s all part of his body going through residuum withdrawal and attempting to shut down. Jester insists that Eadwulf doesn’t know what he’s talking about, since no Volstrucker has ever gone through withdrawal before. Fjord doesn’t know anything.
Eadwulf groans at his touch, a sound that isn’t much more than an exhale. He doesn’t open his eyes.
“We’ve made it to Dodola Island. We’re going to try and find an inn to get you off the water. Do you want to take the launch to shore? The ship will take a while to moor.”
Now Eadwulf’s eyes open, only a slit, and he tries to sit up. It takes two attempts.
Fjord’s stomach twists in knots.
Jester shakes her head again, “no, no, he can’t go. Not like this. We should wait to unload at the pier—”
“Get me off this ship,” Eadwulf whines, and then his whole body jerks as he gags.
Jester scrambles to get the bowl for him to retch into. Fjord doesn’t know what else he can do but rub small circles on Eadwulf’s back. As has been normal for the last two days, Eadwulf coughs nothing up but bile. He hasn’t even been able to keep down broth.
Fjord can feel the protrusion of Eadwulf’s bones under his hand.
“We can push on,” Fjord suggests, “it— maybe it’ll be rough, but it’s not much further to Nicodranas. And then we can get the residuum from your father.”
Jester’s face twists up, “he won’t make it another week like this.”
Casually just gonna rant about this fic and it's hold on me and also I am so excited for where it's going and I just want these damn idiots to realize their puppy is in love with them and honestly at this point I dont know that he'll survive the residuum going back INTO him and it's gonna be one ball of angst fest and also i am here for it and eeeeeeeeeeeeee. (this past sunday was so hard with not having any updates but i was a big kid and sucked it up but also eeeeeeeee)

Okay weirdly this exact situation has happened to me. It was summer so I was sleeping naked, but then I heard the lock on the front door being opened. I thought someone was breaking into my house and I had enough time to either grab my sword or my nightgown, not both.
Two things I learned.
One, sometimes apartment complexes will flat out forget to tell you they’re sending someone over from the fire department to check your fire extinguishers.
Two, no matter how bad ass a person thinks they are, a naked person swinging a sword at them will knock them off balance both physically and mentally.
However, the fireman was very nice about it and accepted my apology.
