“This is me, giving you a chance. Try not throwing it away. You have one minute to give me one good reason about why I should want to spend any of my valuable time with you.”
Katelyn clapped, excited. “We can go sunbathing at the beach!” She said excited. “I love getting the perfect tan during summer. Unless you had a better idea. Or, you thought sunbathing is lame.”
“I guess you are right.” Katelyn admitted. “Another reason to never leave camp without an Ares kid.” She joked, before shaking her hand. “Katelyn. Some call me Katy, you can call me however you like. As long as it’s not something mean.”
Katelyn laughed again, hugging him. “Silly, you already are my brother. Sadly, my dad can barely manage with six kids, but I’ll make sure to buy you an awesome birthday gift.” She moved her hand over his hair. “Please, never die this blond. You know what they say: think before you ink. I’m pretty sure that applies to dying your hair as well.”
“As long as you tell me your wardrobe isn’t entirely based on dark clothes, we good.” She joked, as she followed him. “I seriously need to take a quick shower. But, meet you at the lake, in like, fifteen?” She asked, looking to the side towards him.
“I feel Honored you would trust me such a secret.” Katelyn laughed softly. “I find it extremely cute you are named after Winnie Pooh.” She thought about it. “I’m not really sure why my name is Angela.” She sighed slightly. “I love my dad. And he loves me, and all my brothers back. But, to be honest, we don’t spend a lot of time together.”
“I just hope it was enough tip for the delivery guy to forget everything he saw.” She laughed. “You know, new best friend, I think I never caught your name.”
“woah, woah, hello there… i would love to meet you.”
“I bet you would. Well, you aren’t the only one, so I’m not surprised. Do you think I want to meet you, though?”
“I have other strenghts. Like, politics. Or more social stuff, you know? I think debating and talking comes before punching.”
“Hey, watch out! You could get hit by this thing and I don’t want to get blamed!”
Katelyn quickly jumped out of the way. “Sorry!” She said, making a face. “Stupid Chiron and stupid mandatory training.” She huffed.
“Why would you do this to me?” Mathias gives a look of pure betrayal at the other in front of him, confused by the other’s decision to commit such a crime to him.
“Relax, would you? I just threw some perfume at you. A rather expensive one, so you should be thanking me, snowflake.” Katelyn huffed, rolling her eyes at the other guy.
althea was pulled from her light sleep as the door to the ares/phobos cabin swung open. “what do you want?” she grumbled, blinking a couple times to focus on the individual in the doorway. “i’m very busy.”
“Yeah, I can tell.” Katelyn said, sarcastically. “I need toask you a super special favour. Well, actually, anyone from the Ares cabin. But you just seem to be more reachable and less scary than the rest.” Katelyn admitted. “I can offer you a reward, if you wish.”
Fast forwarding an hour, a really confused Pizza guy and a Chiron’s lecture later, both girls were enjoying some pizza on the steps of Katelyn’s cabin. “This. This is how all great relationships start.”
Katelyn smiled at his comment. Despite she loved her father and brothers with all her heart, being the only woman in the Hall family wasn’t easy, and even if she had never admitted it to not make her father sad, deep down she always wanted to have a mother-like rolemodel. “She sounds amazing. I prefer french, though.” She replied. “And Christopher is a lovely name, one she chose. I can see why she would only call you that.”
“How much money do you think it would take to order a pizza and get it delivered to the side of the road? Because I can hear pizza calling my name from miles away, and I really want it.”
Katelyn laughed. “I’m sure we can collect enough money among the two of us for a pizza. We can use my phone if you want. The reception here is awful, but there’s one perfect spot that has enough connection to reach the city.”
“Alright, for your information, I wasn’t even talking to you. So, you are the one that gets into other people’s business.”
“Well, right now, I’m going to go and take aa two hours bath. But, you are cool, and kinda cute. So, if you would like spending time with someone equally cool, just tell me, and well think of something to do that doesn’t involve horse shit.” Katelyn smiled. “Honestly, you are a fresh Hades kid. The rest of the Hares kids I know are ‘oh, death, oh shadows, oh, dead corpses’.”
