a video in which Ortiz reads aloud in Spanish a report on the United States’ practice of forcibly drugging people for deportations, followed by the free trade agreement between Peru (her home country) and the US. As she reads, a man comes and administers a dose of some of the drugs used in these situations, holding a needle in her arm for longer than a minute. The effect is swift: Ortiz stumbles over her words, repeats them, swallows audibly, and holds her head in her hands while attempting to continue her reading.
