@katelynninja
stitch a pocket large enough for several books, a spindle, spare slippers, a loaf of bread, and your dignity
Good sir I only own four of those things
You may, if desired, replace Whatever you lack with More Bread.
Took me what felt like 80 years because life just keep getting in the way but its finally finished! More Bread!
Made a few small adjustments, some intentional like the capitalizations and some less than like the little flowers in the blue pot but overall I’m really happy with how it all turned out.

ALRIGHT NERDS IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR EPISODE 2 OF WEIRD WHITE HOUSE
Today we are learning about this guy
"BILL" WILLIAM "BILL" HOWARD "BILL" TAFT "BILL" (AKA BIG BILL)
Look at that SWEET 'STACHE it's like a hairy but elegant roller coaster
Yes everyone knows he was a big dude at up to 350 lbs but DID YOU KNOW he lost like 100 pounds after his presidency?? He also made jokes about his own weight.
SO THE BATH TUB STORY: IT'S A LEGEND. We don't have any historical proof that Taft got stuck in a bathtub and the rumor was actually started way later in a memoir by a White House staff member. He did have giant bath tubs built for him though:
Like 7ft by 4ft. Cozy.
So other fun facts
he apparently was super polite but I think he was also sassy
S A S S
he ate almonds when he was nervous
he was the first president to own a car
he often fell asleep while being driven around in cars, even during campaign events...just flopped over I bet
he fell asleep during government meetings
he fell asleep once while talking to the speaker of the house
he fell asleep in the front row of a funeral
he fell asleep during dinner once and one of the guests was like changed the music, basically saying it would wake anyone but a dead person, but when Taft still slept through it, the guy was like "I guess he's dead"
when he wasn't unconscious he was always sneaking out of the White House to go play golf (his wife wanted him to be president, he didn't really enjoy it at all) so yay golf
he was the only person to ever serve in the executive and judicial branches -- first, as president, then later as Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court (which he LOOOOOOVED)
LOOK HOW HAPPY HE IS
so happy
HERE HE IS RIDING A YAK
so even though he kinda sucked as a politician, this guy was BIG PIMPIN'
Big Bill is calling you BABYYYYY
ETA: Taft also had a cow called Mooly Wooly but after that one died, his favorite cow was Pauline Wayne which was given to him by a congressman (as one does) that gave like 8 gallons of milk a day (the cow not the congressman) and White House visitors could buy little bottles of presidential cow milk and Taft sent Pauline as an envoy to dairy cow shows and one time she went missing and was found just in the nick of time in a slaughterhouse this cow had quite a life okay
sorry I forgot about his cow love
