My little @compassion child frequently writes me letters. She usually writes about her family and school and draws me pictures of the Amazon Rainforest where she lives. This time though I noticed a scribble on the edge of the paper by her drawing. The first time I read the letter (weeks ago), I thought it was some strange Spanish word I didn't know..."minaimis Anali". Today I noticed that strange word again. It didn't click the first time, but this time it did! She was saying her name in english, "Mi naim is Anali" or "My name is Anali!". This literally made my day!!!! What you don't know is that when I visited her in Peru, she kept asking me how to say things in English, specifically her name. She wanted to learn English so she could talk to me! We practiced saying, "My name is Anali" a few times and she pranced around all day repeating that saying. "My name is Anali, my name is Anali, my name is Anali!" How did I miss that sweet little note the first time I read the letter? She was speaking directly to me, something only her and I would understand! It's because I was preoccupied and didn't fully take the time to really look. It's unbelievable to me that I can be so connected to someone who speaks two completely different languages and lives thousands of miles away. #godisboomin #compassioninternational
