It's a somewhat quiet time at this time every year. School's done, exams are finished and we're all sitting here waiting to hear back. So I figured I'd look through my old harddrive and see what I could find. So here you have a photo I took in 2015 on vacation. To note: it is a reeally old JPEG file from my old Nikon camera, so I added a tiny bit of an oil paint filter from photoshop on it because it hurt my eyes.
I have not gotten to do much art this year because of my school semester, but I am currently, slowly, working on a series of pictures. So here are some WIP drawings/sketches.
I had to find a ton of reference images, but I think they'll end up looking good in the end. I am not that good with lighting and shades just yet, so I'm working on it. I just have to make some sketches just to see the vision. I am still not quite sure which colour combo I should introduce to these just yet, but oh well. I'll figure it out in the end.
Collared Aracari (2026) I have been drawing an Aracari thrice now. This is my latest edition (took approximately 5 hours). I have tried finding some motivation to draw, and doing the same species several times is a fun way to do it, just to see how different both the style and the skill is. The last one drawn was in 2020, which you can find further down on my profile. The first one was in 2018. This latest edition is now 8 years older than the first one. So fun!
Felix (2026)
I tried painting my dog in 2018 (last photo) and wanted to try again. So here is Felix, a blue merle Australian Shepherd that is missed deeply every day.

Just a "quick" drawing for practice. Trusting the process, literally, is a hard practice for someone who wants to make everything "perfect". Trying to use a more "traiditonal painting" stance on this one, just as I did with the Bateleur.

Church (2023) A school project from 2023. We had to draw a self-picked image in multiple different ways. These drawings were made with aquarell (watercolours), acryllic and coal. The image used was of the Johannes Church in Bergen, Norway.
