โlafi,โ she called for her co-worker, sophia, asking her to take care of the counter for a moment. the filipina gave her a knowing look, then glanced at the customer yunjin had been eyeing.
โjust go already.โ she said with a dismissive, yet somehow encouraging wave.
she let out a small huff of a chuckle before slowly approaching the girl. she was seated next to the window, one chair empty and a slice of blueberry cheesecake thatโd barely been touched lay on the table.
y/n was on her phone, trying to distract herself from the disappointment of being stood up without any proper explanationโ then, she felt a presence coming her way.
โy/n, right?โ yunjin said with a small smile as she set the drink down on the table, gently sliding it towards the girl.
โoh- no, i didnโt orderโโ y/n tried to say before yunjin shook her head. โno, donโt worry, itโs on me.โ
that made y/n smile, just slightly, but it seemed like it was enough for the barista to notice. she muttered out a quick thank you, ushering yunjin to take the free seat in front of her before taking a sip from the drink, letting out a sated hum at the taste.

before the girl could make her way back behind the counter, y/n took ahold of her wrist. a gentle, yet firm grip.
