I'm new to Tumblr ngl, but I've been reading ur fanfics for a while now lol, but and I recently read your bakugo fanfic abt his thoughts and the song "who knows" by Daniel Caesar, so I was REALLY hopping for a Prom by John Michael Howell version, from Bakugo's Pov, (or y/ns about bakugo) so it would be like a Prom thingy. (I love this song so and I've been looking for a Prom by John Michael Howell fanfic in general Forever and I love your writing (You don't have to do it tho no pressure lol, but if you do do it pls tag me! :3 tysm twin ✌️😭

Prom — 𑣲кatsuki Bakugou

When UA announced that they’d be hosting a prom this year, all of the students were ecstatic! including you, your boyfriend Katsuki? Not so much. Still, he knew how much it’d meant to you and how badly you wanted to go, so he asked you to be his date anyway. He went out and got his suit fitted and even added little orange details—his tie and handkerchief — to match your dress. How sweet.

It’s now one day before prom—exciting, right? Wrong. Your immune system has quit, letting every nasty germ make you sick. You can hardly breathe and your head aches; there’s no way you can go. When Katsuki heard, he was grateful—not for your suffering, but because he “wouldn’t have to go to some lame dance with those losers.”

But when he saw your face on FaceTime, talking about how much you wished you could have gone, that look changed everything.

God. He just had to be an amazing boyfriend, didn’t he?

Emotionally unregulated? Sure. But Katsuki Bakugou is an incredible boyfriend. So incredible that when you were feeling better, he went down to the store and came back with bags of decorations—everything he needed to turn his backyard into a makeshift prom. Just for you.

Fairy lights were hung along the fence, a few paper lanterns—mostly orange, of course— hung between them, swaying slightly in the nightly breeze. He created a small, makeshift “dance floor” using a cheap but surprisingly neat string of lights laid around the edges of the grass. There were streamers, some a little crooked; a small table sat off to the side with your favorite snacks and drinks, and a Bluetooth speaker played a playlist curated from all your favorite songs. He spent 2 hours making it.

He was dedicated to making you have a good time. There was even a banner he made that had the word “prom” on it in big glittery letters. It wasn’t perfect; some tape was visible, streamers were uneven, and not all of the decorations matched.

But when you arrived, wearing the dress he told you to wear “just because” you loved it. It felt better than any real prom could have, and the fact that your Katsuki did all of this for you? That made it perfect.

“Tonight, we could spend forever under the stars.” A faster-paced song plays through the speaker, a little distorted since it’s a cheap one, but it’s loud enough. You’re already spinning and trying to pull him along with you. He’s half-assing it, stiff, very off-beat… but he tries. “How long are we gonna stay out here, Kats?” You ask. He just shrugs his shoulders, “As long as you’d like…dork.” Truthfully? He was already a bit tired and wouldn’t mind going inside right now.. but he’d stay out longer for you. “As long as you’d like.”

“…The radios on, they’re playing our song.” The song changes—slower now. More familiar. The one that was playing softly in the background of his car when he asked you to be his girlfriend. He notices it before you do, of course, he does. “Oh— Katsuki! It’s our song, come on!” You grab his hands; this time, he isn’t as stiff. He’s trying.

“This feels like prom.” It’s not fancy or grand, streamers are uneven, the banner is crooked, and the snacks and juice have been left untouched. Yet somehow, all you can think about is how this is much better than the real thing could ever have been.

“I’ll be the homecoming king to your queen.” “Come here, come over here for a sec.” He brings you over to the snack table, and a plastic tiara and crown sit in the center. He takes the crown and places it on his own head before placing the tiara gently onto yours. “There.. queen of prom or whatever.” He pulls out his phone and holds the camera up towards you, “Don’t make it sappy.. just smile.”

“Nothing but you and me and the stars.” As another slower song drifts in, he’s the one who steps closer this time. Your hands find each other naturally. He rests his chin on your head, closing his eyes, swaying gently with the melody of the song. No extra noise, no pressure. just him, his favorite girl, his favorite person in general, really, dancing under the stars.

“Photo Booth with the phone light, making it last for a lifetime, memory looking so bright in your arms.” “Here, take this.” He hands you his phone, the camera app already open. You smile and pull him close, cheek to cheek. Snap. Another. This time, a peck on his cheek. Another. This time, making funny faces. One more snap. You’re at the camera, and Katsuki is looking at you with a subtle smile and a look of love in his eyes. Though he pretends to be annoyed by the entire situation… and he complains “okay that’s enough! You’ll take up all my phone storage..” but later he’ll secretly look at every photo with a stupid grin on his face and commit everyone to memory like he always does. He loves you so damn much, and he’d recreate a thousand+ proms if it meant seeing you smile

Who Knows — 𑣲кatsuki Bakugou

This fic mostly takes place in Katsuki’s mind, and it’s supposed to be his internal monologue!

“I’ll probably be a waste of your time.” Katsuki thinks. He sits in his seat at the back of the class, watching you from afar as you talk with your other classmates, trying to act as uninterested as possible. There’s no way you’d want to be with someone like him; you deserve someone softer, someone who can express their feelings better, someone who’s easy to understand and to love. He’s not that person, and you have better things to do than deal with someone like him. You’re always surrounded by your friends anyway. No time for him.

“Chances are I’ll step out of line.” Today, you spoke to him, you complimented his form during training, and you thanked him for helping you during class. He immediately got awkward and snapped at you. “Of course it looked good, you think I’d work my ass off to make myself look stupid??” He immediately regrets his words. He worries he always ruins moments with you. Stupid lack of emotional expression, hecan’t even talk normally to her.

“Lately, you’ve set up in my mind.” You’ve been in his head all day today, during training, lunch, even when he’s going to bed; all he can think of is you. He even notices the small things you do. The way you laugh at everything, no matter how unfunny or stupid Kaminari's joke was, how you quietly talk to yourself when there are too many thoughts in your head, how you always eat the same four foods in rotation at lunch. He remembers everything you say as well. He remembers you mentioning your love for fashion and your hatred for peanut butter. He knows you love baking and your favorite song just from you mentioning it that one time— why the hell is he thinking about you during his test!? Focus Katsuki. Focus.

“Lately I’ve been thinking that perhaps I am a coward.” Today, Aizawa paired you two up for some dumb poster project. Of course, you’d be his parent. So here you two are, sitting on his dorm floor, while you explain something about the color scheme that he’s definitely not paying attention to because you’re sitting way too close. close enough that if he wanted to, he could just say it. You know… the thing.. “I like you.” And the words almost do leave his mouth, then they don’t. He clicks his pen instead and starts writing down the words you tell him to. He’s so pathetic. How is he supposed to be the future number one hero if he can’t even say a stupid sentence to a girl??

“You’re, you’re kind, mature, divine.” Kaminari overused his quirk again and is currently hunched over a bench while everyone else laughs, and somehow, you’re the only person who kneels to help him. Just talking to him normally, as if he’s not sputtering pure bull. You’re patient. Calm. Like it’s the most normal thing in the world. Katsuki watched from the other side of the room. How the hell are you always like this? So sweet and willing to help. You make it look so easy.. it’s ridiculous.

“You might be too good for me, unattainable.” That’s what Katsuki tells himself. You’re too patient. Too friendly. Too easy to speak with.. the exact kind of person that deserves someone better than him. Someone calmer, someone softer. He’d already come to that conclusion, so why the hell is he still thinking about you!? Maybe because you keep doing things that don’t make any sense.. like laughing at the dumb things he says, or sitting next to him during lunch and talking his ear off while he pretends to not listen even tho he’s gonna remember everything you say forever (Not that he’ll ever admit that) or how you baked that stupid dessert he mentioned one time and pretended like it was no big deal. Why would you go through all of that trouble to “bother” him if you didn’t care? The thought sticks in his head longer than he’d like.

“Maybe we’ll get married one day. But who knows?” Hello?? This thought came out of nowhere. He immediately sits up in bed, as if his brain has betrayed him, and the thought personally offends him. “The hell kind of thought is that..” marriage.. with you.. he groans and drops back onto the pillow, rubbing his face. He can’t even talk to you without sounding like a jerk, but in reality, the thought gives him wittle butterflies he chooses not to acknowledge.

“Think I’ll take that thought to the grave, up who knows.” Yeah.. that’s probably for the best. He has bigger things to worry about than some stupid crush; he has to focus on becoming number one and school... stuff that actually matters. So he tries to shove the thought as far down as possible and decides that he’s gonna give up on the idea of confessing (for now)

“I know that I’ll love you always, yeah, girl, you, and I’d like that.” But even if he never says anything… even if you end up with someone else one day, even if the stupid crush never goes away. Katsuki thinks he’d be okay with that. Because somehow, loving you doesn’t feel like losing, no matter what the outcome may be.

I’m so sorry for ghosting u guys for 8 months.. but I’m back (for today) now!

How is he supposed to be the future number one hero if he can’t even say a stupid sentence to a girl??

“You’re, you’re kind, mature, divine.” Kaminari overused his quirk again and is currently hunched over a bench while everyone else laughs, and somehow, you’re the only person who kneels to help him. Just talking to him normally, as if he’s not sputtering pure bull. You’re patient. Calm. Like it’s the most normal thing in the world. Katsuki watched from the other side of the room. How the hell are you always like this? So sweet and willing to help. You make it look so easy.. it’s ridiculous.

“You might be too good for me, unattainable.” That’s what Katsuki tells himself. You’re too patient. Too friendly. Too easy to speak with.. the exact kind of person that deserves someone better than him. Someone calmer, someone softer. He’d already come to that conclusion, so why the hell is he still thinking about you!? Maybe because you keep doing things that don’t make any sense.. like laughing at the dumb things he says, or sitting next to him during lunch and talking his ear off while he pretends to not listen even tho he’s gonna remember everything you say forever (Not that he’ll ever admit that) or how you baked that stupid dessert he mentioned one time and pretended like it was no big deal. Why would you go through all of that trouble to “bother” him if you didn’t care? The thought sticks in his head longer than he’d like.

“Maybe we’ll get married one day. But who knows?” Hello?? This thought came out of nowhere. He immediately sits up in bed, as if his brain has betrayed him, and the thought personally offends him. “The hell kind of thought is that..” marriage.. with you.. he groans and drops back onto the pillow, rubbing his face. He can’t even talk to you without sounding like a jerk, but in reality, the thought gives him wittle butterflies he chooses not to acknowledge.

“Think I’ll take that thought to the grave, up who knows.” Yeah.. that’s probably for the best. He has bigger things to worry about than some stupid crush; he has to focus on becoming number one and school... stuff that actually matters. So he tries to shove the thought as far down as possible and decides that he’s gonna give up on the idea of confessing (for now)

“I know that I’ll love you always, yeah, girl, you, and I’d like that.” But even if he never says anything… even if you end up with someone else one day, even if the stupid crush never goes away. Katsuki thinks he’d be okay with that. Because somehow, loving you doesn’t feel like losing, no matter what the outcome may be.

I’m so sorry for ghosting u guys for 8 months.. but I’m back (for today) now!

Every Life — Katsuki

⚠️ : a little angsty but there’s a happy ending I promise!

[Scene: The war]

The battlefield had been destroyed long ago—Unrecognizable—Ash, distracted metal, and the disgustingly sharp scent of blood in the air. The sounds of panicked civilians echo amidst the chaos. Bakugou’s palms are dripping with sweat and blood, his whole body is—Trembling from the adrenaline and overuse of his quirk.

“Katsuki! Behind you!”

You slam into the boy's body just as Shigaraki’s quirk detonation hits. Both of you go flying—heat, noise, pain. The sky spins.When you land, the world seems to go quiet. You’re on your back, and so is Katsuki. Less than a foot away, both unable to move, both bleeding, both dying, both side by side. For a moment he thinks he’s already dead, then he hears your breathing. Shallow and pained. He tries to move closer but his body won’t let him.

“Shitty timing..” he mutters. Coughing, the taste of iron and dirt on his tongue. “You just had to play hero, didn’t you?” You didn’t answer. Not at first. You turn your head to look at him. A broken smile dancing on your bloodied lips. “Couldn’t let you go alone.” He lets out a shaky scoff his eyes focused on the grey sky. “Always so damn shellfish.” He turns his head to meet your gaze. You reach for him. He meets you halfway, your hand trembling in his. Your fingers barely lock together.

“Promise me..” you whisper, voice barely audible. “Every life.. You spend it with me?” An uncharacteristic smile made its way across the boy's face, along with a single tear. He squeezes your hand with as much strength as his weak body would allow. “I’ll marry your dumbass,” he mutters. “Every fucking time.” His voice cracks a little towards the end. The war rages on in the distance— but here, in a bittersweet corner of the battlefield, it’s just you and him.

Two hearts, slowing together. Side by side.

[Scene: Another life.]

In a world that’s slightly more peaceful. No quirks, no war, just soft skin and quiet breaths.

Just the sound of two babies babbling in the next room followed by the sound of Katsuki’s voice. You shift under the covers, a hand resting on the curve of your swollen belly. Number three. The surprise baby. He returns carrying one baby on each arm, both clinging to him like little barnacles. “They want you,” he says plainly, but his eyes are soft.

“They always do.” He climbs into bed with them anyway, the four of you squished together in the sheets Side by side. The twins crawl between you and Katsuki, reaching out and babbling nonsense. You lean back into him, his palm instinctively resting on your belly. Katsuki takes in the scene. God, he couldn’t imagine anything better. He silently wished the two of you would be together in every life he’d live.

[Scene: A quiet flower field.]

A beautiful meadow sways in the breeze, wildflowers stretching towards the sun. Two flowers bloom in the center, side by side. A pretty flower with an orange-tinted center with red petals that adorn it, and a pale pink petaled one with a yellow center. As the wind whispers through them, they bend together. Always together.

[scene: soaring the sky]

Two birds are flying side by side in the late evening, chasing each other in the sky. One dives, the other follows. They land on a wire, side by side. He nudges her wing. She chirps in reply. They take off again— always flying home together. Side by side.

[Scene: two wrinkly oldies.]

Two hands clasp on a park bench. Wrinkled fingers, silver rings. The same eyes, the same souls. Side by side. Soft laughter filled the air as children played in the distance. “Hon? Do you believe in reincarnation?” You asked.

“Hell no, that’s stupid. Why?” Katsuki replied.

“Do you think if it’s real we’re together in another life?” You ask again, looking at him,

He looks over at that pretty wrinkled skin he fell in love with years and years ago.

“Hell yeah. In every life, idiot.”
