hellooo! Can you make one where reader and pro!hero bakugo are in a battle against a villain and she reveals shes pregnant.
.ೀ synopsis: In which Bakugou Katsuki finds out his wife is pregnant in the middle of a villain fight.
You and Katsuki have been married for four years now.
Four solid, chaotic, beautiful years, charted as one of the best pro-hero duos in Japan. To the public, the two of you were practically unstoppable— Not just because your quirks worked so well together, but because no matter where people looked, you were always there beside each other, whether in headlines, interviews, or battle footage.
But being pro heroes means busy schedules, overlapping patrols, late nights, and missions that never really end. Conversations about settling down, about having a kid, rarely go beyond teasing comments and half-finished thoughts. Not that you haven’t thought about it.
Especially when Mitsuki won’t stop nagging the both of you every time you visit, loudly demanding a grandchild while Katsuki yells back at her to mind her business. Still, beneath the bickering, you both know it’s something you’ve dreamed about for a long time. You just tell yourselves there’s no rush. You deserve to enjoy this first.
Tonight was just another patrol.
You and Katsuki stood on top of a tall building near the busy streets of Mustafu, the city lights glowing below as a calm breeze brushed past. Your shoulder brushed his as you scanned the area, comfortable in the silence that only the two of you could share.
Then your earpiece crackled to life.
“Villain detected approximately one mile from your location. Multiple civilians in the vicinity. Requesting immediate response.”
You and Katsuki glanced at each other at the same time, identical smirks tugging at your lips. No words needed.
He propelled himself forward with a burst of explosions while you launched after him, the two of you slicing through the night sky in perfect sync until you landed at your destination.
“Tch. This it?” katsuki muttered in a disappoined tone, skidding to a halt beside you as smoke curled from his palms.
The villain was massive, some kind of transformation quirk that made him look almost dinosaur-like, towering over the street with jagged scales and a distorted snout. Civilians were already scrambling away in panic.
For a split second, the villain’s eyes widened at the sight of both of you landing together. Then its expression twisted back into rage.
He barked out a command, and a wave of what seem to be its henchmen rushed forward from behind him, charging straight at you.
You cracked your knuckles, expression unreadable, voice calm and steady. “Ready when you are.”
Katauki shot you a sideways look, brow raising slightly. The hell? That was… different. Usually you’d tease him first, throw some smart comment his way just to rile him up before a fight.
But he shoved the thought aside and focused ahead.
“Let’s take this cheap godzilla knockoff down.”
And before they could reach you, Katsuki’s arm wrapped around your waist, yanking you firmly against him as he thrust his other hand forward.
A deafening explosion erupted from his palm, blasting the front line of attackers backward in a violent shockwave, smoke and debris swallowing the street.
It was usually one of those moments where the two of you would steal a second— some ridiculous, battle-field flirting in the middle of chaos.
He was already turning toward you, a cocky smirk forming and flirtatious glint ready in his eyes, the intro of the song "True" by Spandau Ballet already playing in his head——
—and then the record scratched.
You suddenly pushed him back with a bright smile and a nervous little laugh. “Thanks.”
And before he could even process it, you launched forward into your own wave of villains.
You—you —were thanking him like he was some extra in your life? And that laugh… it was off. Definitely forced.
His teeth ground together as he watched you fight. Your movements were sharp as ever, precise and efficient—but something was wrong. It was too controlled. Too distant. You weren’t syncing with him the way you always did.
A vein popped on his temple.
A henchman lunged at his blind spot; Katsuki didn’t even look before blasting it mid-air with a snarling "DIE!" His fists burned from overuse already—not that he cared right now because-
Because why the hell were you like this now?
And since when did you turn your back to him during combat formation?
Something twisted hard in his chest.
“Oi!” Katsuki barked between explosions, carving a path toward you as you grappled with a particularly persistent thug who had managed to press a serrated blade against your throat.
He didn't finish asking whatever demand had been on tongue — "alright who hurt ya this time?" "Did somethin' happen to ya while I wasn't there?" —
Because in one brutal motion, you snapped the henchman’s arm like a twig and flung him aside— too fast, too clean.
Katsuki landed beside you, smoke curling from his palms as his red eyes bore into your profile.
“The hell is wrong with you?” he growled low, sharp enough that only you could hear it.
“You ain’t this stiff unless somethin’ happened.”
Your breath hitched. Just barely.
But he caught it. He always does.
His jaw tightened as he stepped closer, lowering his voice to something almost dangerous.
“…You better not be hidin’ something from me.”
You whip around at his voice, eyes wide.
“No—of course not! Nothing!” The words tumble out too fast, your voice cracking just enough to betray you.
You flash him a quick smile that doesn’t quite settle on your face before turning away again, already moving toward another cluster of villains as if the fight is suddenly the most important thing in the world. Kinda.
Katsukis whole body goes still.
Your voice cracked. Your hands shook—barely, but he saw it. That smile didn’t reach your eyes, and you were already putting distance between the two of you like he was the problem.
Like he wasn’t your husband of four damn years.
Like he hadn’t spent those years memorizing every shift in your posture, every twitch of your hands, every little tell you thought you hid so well.
Something in his chest tears open.
“LIKE HELL IT’S NOTHING!”
An explosion erupted from his palm as he launched forward, propelling himself across the battlefield a little too fast. The shockwave blasted through a few henchmen charging toward him, sending them flying as he closed the distance in seconds.
Before you can dart away again, his hand clamps around your wrist mid-stride and you’re yanked backward hard enough that your spine collided with his (beefy) chest.
“Katsuki—what the hell? Get off me!” you struggle, twisting your arm and trying to pry his hand loose.
But his grip only tightens.
His chest rose and fell behind you, breath coming out rough and uneven as he leaned closer, his voice dropping low enough that only you could hear it.
Unfortunately, their argument is cut short by a thunderous roar.
The ground trembles as the main villain stomps forward, its massive shadow swallowing the street as it lifts a giant foot, ready to crush both of you beneath it.
Katsuki clicks his tongue sharply, shooting you one last heated glare before releasing your wrist just in time.
The moment his grip loosens, the two of you launch upward at the same time.
Explosions burst from his palms while you propel yourself forward, both of you attacking mid-air as the beast’s foot crashes down where you had been standing seconds earlier, the impact shattering pavement and sending debris flying.
“Move your ass!” Bakugou shouts, already blasting toward the monster’s head.
You fire back your own attack without missing a beat, the two of you falling into the familiar rhythm of combat despite everything.
All of katsuki's questions and frustrations are shoved ruthlessly aside for now—this damn thing needs to go down fast.
But his mind still spins.
You were hiding something.
Something you didn’t want him to know, for some god-forsaken reason.
His jaw tightens as another explosion tears through the air.
He’d protect you first, then he’d drag the truth out of you himself.
His explosions lit up the sky like fireworks.
“You better start spillin’ your secrets the second this bastard drops!”
“What the hell are you on about?!” you shouted back mid-fight, aiming straight for the creature’s weak points. Your attack landed and the monster roared in pain while you dodged another slow, crushing swing.
“ME on about? The one IGNORIN’ me is YOU, you damn idiot!”
Katsuki had to yell just to be heard over the chaos, explosions bursting from his palms in rapid succession as the two of you darted around the beast’s clumsy attacks—but he wouldn’t stop glaring at you. Why couldn’t you just listen for once?
Why were you being so damn stubborn right now?
“Why the hell are you running from me?!”
“Running? What the hell are you talking about?!” You shot him a look like he’d lost his mind, even as you both kept your focus on the towering villain.
“Don’t give me that bullshit! You won’t even look me in the goddamn eye! If this is some kind of game—some kind of sick joke, then it’s not damn funny! so quit it.” Katsuki spat, voice sharp beneath another burst of smoke and fire.
You looked at him for a moment— then looked away too fast.
Something in him snapped.
The word came out low, dangerous— quiet, like the calm before a storm. In the middle of the fight he suddenly changed direction mid-air, cutting straight toward the monster instead of away from it.
Then he stopped fighting.
He let himself hover right in front of the villain’s face.
For a split second the creature seemed confused— before its massive hand shot out and snatched him out of the air.
Your eyes widened as your heart dropped.
“Katsuki, what the hell are you doing?! —KATSUKI!”
Your voice cracked, raw and terrified as the villain’s claws closed around him like a vise. Blood dripped from his split lip where he’d been slammed against the creature’s rough scales—but he didn’t even flinch.
He just stared at you through the smoke with burning red eyes that said everything.
The beast roared in triumph, raising its fist high above its head— ready to crush him into paste right in front of you.
Katsuki didn’t even struggle in its grip. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth and smoke curled from his palms, but his eyes never left you. He kept glaring at your frozen form like he’d let every bone in his body shatter if it meant finally making you talk.
Panic surged through you, your heart hammering wildly in your chest as you squeezed your eyes shut.
“alright—ALRIGHT! I’M PREGNANT!”
The words ripped out of you before you could stop them.
For a moment the world went completely still.
Katsuki’s eyes narrowed first— then they widened, his jaw dropping slightly as the words sank in. Even the giant monster seemed to pause mid-motion, its raised hand hanging uselessly in the air like the entire scene had glitched.
“…Say again?” Katsuki croaked hoarsely.
Your face burned as you threw your hands up in frustration. “I’M PREGNANT, YOU IDIOT! NOW GET OFF—”
You didn’t even finish the sentence.
In one violent motion the creature’s arm suddenly exploded apart with a deafening boom, smoke and debris bursting outward as Katsuki blasted himself free. The massive beast collapsed behind him moments later, its body crashing into the ground with a tremor that shook the street.
Katsuki landed smoothly in front of you, boots scraping the pavement, but he didn’t even glance back at the fallen villain.
His eyes were locked entirely on you.
“I… y-you—pregnant?” The last word came out strangled, like his voice had forgotten how to function.
Soot streaked his face and blood still dripped from his knuckles, yet none of it seemed to matter. His brain was clearly trying, and failing, to process the single word now echoing loudly in his head.
You let out a long breath, rubbing the back of your neck awkwardly as you looked away, cheeks flushed.
Katsuki’s expression went blank for half a second before something in it cracked.
“For how long?!” he demanded suddenly, voice rough as he stepped forward, hands twitching like he didn’t know where to put them.
“Just—! Just for a week now,” you admitted quietly, fidgeting with the edge of your glove. “Just a week.”
Katsuki’s entire body went rigid.
“YOU’VE BEEN OUT ON MISSIONS?!”
His voice cracked halfway through the shout as he grabbed your shoulders, pulling you toward him in sheer disbelief. His grip wasn’t rough, but it was firm enough to make you look straight at him as he shook you slightly, eyes wide and frantic.
“A WEEK AGO WE WERE STILL— AND YOU JUST LET ME—”
He choked on the rest of the sentence, face turning bright red as his brain short-circuited somewhere between panic and outrage.
You mirrored his reaction immediately, flustered and defensive as you pushed weakly at his chest. “H-hey! It’s not like I knew right away either!”
Katsuki sucked in a sharp breath, trying, and still failing, to calm down. His hand were still gripping your shoulders when he spoke again, voice lower now but strained.
“…Why didn’t you tell me?”
Then, ur eyes finally lifted to meet his, and the usual confidence he knew so well was gone, replaced with something far more uncertain.
“Because…” you started quietly, fingers curling against the fabric of his costume. “Because I didn’t want to ruin us, okay?”
Your gaze dropped again as you continued, voice softer now, fingers fidgeting with the edge of his costume.
“When you said you wanted to enjoy us just being pro heroes first… I panicked,” you admitted quietly. “I didn’t want you to freak out if I suddenly told you I was pregnant after you literally just said you’d only want to settle down when we’re growing white hair together.”
Katsuki stared at you for a second.
Then his gaze softened. Just a little.
"You idiot," Katsuki muttered, hands slipping from your shoulders to rest on your waist instead as he pulled you against him.
“What makes you think you’d ruin us, huh?”
His chest felt like it was about to burst from how hard his heart was pounding as his thumbs brushed lightly over the light marks his grip had accidentally left on your arms. His brows knit together for a moment at the sight before he gently traced over them, almost apologetically.
“And white hair?” he scoffed, shaking his head. “Christ. You’re the biggest dumbass in the damn world if you thought that would scare me off.”
Your lips trembled slightly before you reached up, cupping his jaw in both hands.
Your words cut off abruptly as your eyes widened.
You barely finished shouting before a lone henchman who had crept up during your moment swung a weapon straight toward Katsuki’s back.
But you didn’t eveb need to warn him.
Without even looking behind him, Katsuki swung his arm back and decked the guy square in the face, his fist connecting with a sharp crack that sent the man crumpling to the pavement instantly.
Katsuki glanced over his shoulder lazily, shaking his hand once. “Tch. Annoying.”
Then his eyes flicked past you—and his expression changed.
He reached forward, ready to shove you aside.
But you were already moving.
You turned quickly, launching a sharp attack that knocked the second sneaking henchman flat before he could even reach you. The man collapsed in a heap, completely out cold.
For a second, the street went quiet again.
You turned back to Katsuki.
But he was already staring at you.
The two of you just stood there for a moment, smoke drifting through the air around you, the wreckage of the fight scattered across the pavement.
slowly— you both cracked a smile.
Just then, the communicator in both of your ears crackled again, the operator’s voice coming through the static.
“Status check. What’s the situation over there? I’m guessing the two of you handled it already?”
You and Katsuki glanced at each other.
For a second neither of you answered.
Katsuki wiped the back of his hand across his mouth, then let out a small huff before a crooked grin tugged at his lips.
“Three of us,” he said casually.
There was a short pause on the line.
You let out a quiet laugh under your breath while shaking your head, glancing at the massive unconscious villain behind Katsuki and the wrecked street around you.
Katsuki just scoffed under his breath, though the grin never left his face as his hand instinctively found yours, fingers squeezing once before his thumb brushed briefly, almost absentmindedly against your stomach.
“Area’s clear,” he added into the comm.
“What do you mean three—hey! Dynamight—”
The operator’s voice continued through the earpiece, clearly confused and already asking for clarification, but neither of you bothered explaining just... Not just yet.
