I love dp x DC stories in which Ghost King Danny is summoned in his full Eldritch form and scaring the shit out of everyone. I also like it when it combines with aus of him talking in ghost speak and the translation gets wrangled, so he sounds a lot more threatening than he means to.

But in those stories ... his name doesn't really fit. What Eldritch God would be called Danny? Even Phantom isn't that scary.

Then I realized that if ghost speak gets translates wrongly and Danny said his name in ghost speak ... wouldn't it be translated wrong too?

And Daniel means God is my Judge in Hebrew while Phantom of course is a kind of ghost.

So,

The Justice League has summoned Danny and he doesn't realize that he's in his Eldritch form. His skin is black and filled with galaxies constantly being born and dying. His eyes are two endless black holes. His hair is the flash of the big bang. He's terrifying and awe-inspiring.

As he speaks, it sounds like millions of beings screaming in agony before breathing their last breath.

And then Danny says "Hi! My name is Danny Phantom, the Ghost King, how can I help you?"

But what the JL hears through the translation is: "I am the Judge of Gods and the restless Dead, Ruler of the Infinite, for what purpose hath thee summoned me?"

Now that's a fitting name!

Like this man has been reading romance novels for as long as he can remember and he absolutely refuses to let this set up go to waste. He has a strange new world, a kind but powerful king, a castle, and big ass fucking library right there.

Too bad his family didn’t get the memo and reverse summoned him back too early.

Danny: *blushing like crazy when he realizes Jason has made no attempt to fix himself up*

Danny: I am so sorry Mr. Batman sir! I promise I have the best intentions with your son! I just want to make him happy and I’d rather take my own arm off than ever hurt him so-

Bruce having just heard Jason rant about his very in depth plans to seduce Danny and get him to toss him around both in bed and during spars: *sighs* i feel like I should be protecting you from Jason’s intentions instead of the other way around

Danny: So. Did you want to be involved in the wedding planning? Or should I just let Jason loose on my staff?

Jason: Only Alfie is allowed to help. Replacement is my best man. Selina is walking me down the aisle. Cass is helping with my outfit. The rest of you are allowed to attend. That's the best you're gonna get. Babe, take me back home. We can visit for lunch in a few days to go over plans. Ok?!

Danny: Kay! See you when Jason lets me leave the castle I guess!

There’s a “spirit of cooking” in the ghost zone that Danny has cook for the ghost attendants of the wedding and she hates Alfred.

She is the physical manifestation of every “measure with your heart” grandmother that has ever lived and has never once needed to reference a recipe. Alfred “measure every ingredient with a scale” Pennyworth is absolutely horrified.

But they are both so politely scathing about it. Just the most passive aggressive bitchfest ever. A disdainful sniff, and raised eyebrow, 'compliments' about their work. Jason and Danmy? Take one look at the situation and leave. Neither of them are touching the situation of they can help it. Not if you paid them.

Selina is thrilled to be his escort down the aisle. Teases Bruce about it endlessly. Gets to help design her outfit. Which? Is going to be glorious! As parents of the groom? Danny is giving them access to the royal tailors. Who have been perfecting their craft for millennia. No one will outshine Danny n Jason of course. But the family's of the grooms will impress. Jazz, Ellie and Dante are also involved. So Jason's family get to meet the other royals.

Princess Jazz, Eldest Sister and Royal Adviser.

Prince Dante, Eldest Brother and General of the Armies.

Princess Ellie, Mirror Sister and Royal Diplomat.

Jason's families are the titles and expect a certain level of decorum. That just does not exist in their own home. They all have court masks yes. But their families are son to become merged. Why would they bother. The Batfam? Get to meet mother-sister Jazz. Caring, attentive and somewhat over bearing. Dante the redeemed fusion from a doomed timeline. Bastard who hides his care behind taunts and fights. Ellie, the mischievous wanderer. Prankster and brat.

The Batkids feel right at home. No wonder the King fell for Jason. These people might be royalty, but they gained the position. They were not raised to it. Behind closed doors that shows. They are a chaotic noisy bunch. Bruce despairs, his kids have new friends to help with their mischief. Someone help!! The new friends have diplomatic immunity. Fuck his life. He just knows Tim will find a way to misuse this knowledge.

Not sure if I'll fully render these, but I did some doodles from the Dead on the main fic I've been working on! I was just playing around with some pose bases from pintrest and also drawing out a few moments from the fic, like Jason trying to grab Danny in the top left, Frost's diagrams in the middle and, my favorite as of late, Frost and Leslie's cute moment. I did add in a snippet of dialogue from chapter 4, it'll be out eventually lol
