Gotta love fall.
Again, strength – the ability to produce force against an external resistance – is the basis of your physical existence. There is only one kind of strength, the kind your contracting muscles produce against your skeletal components as they interact with the ground and with objects you manipulate with your hands. Building strength means that you have increased your ability to produce force, which requires the use of progressively heavier weights. The use of machines is an inefficient way to accomplish this, since the ability to progress is limited by the inherent nature of isolation exercise; additionally, the absence of a balance variable limits the ability of the exercise to build “functional” strength that can be applied in normal human physical circumstances.
Still feeling awesome. Despite all the ups and downs I've been having with my job, family and occurrences in life....my diet is on point and I'm getting stronger every day. Lifting keeps me going. A lot of goal setting has been happening and I'll probably post them on here sometime in the next week or so. Find your own happiness.
Woooops.
Feeling so great lately. lots of PRs, a new diet, folks are coming into town this weekend...yeah. Life is good.
been super busy lately lifting, crossfit, working, and dealing with life. expect more posts soon as I've been feeling inspired and want to post my progress in more than one place. By the way, Beyond The Whiteboard is one of the greatest apps/websites I've used in a long time to track progress. Lovin' it. Also lovin' the OLY lifts.
New nutrition plan starting monday. Stoked.
Yes.

Helping out my former professor with his new publicity project. He's a pretty big deal (he writes a lot for Decibel magazine and is one of the craziest / most informative people I've ever met). Really honored to be working with him and especially thankful for what he wrote about me for my bio:
"It isn't just Katy Keane's extensive experience in booking, tour management, independent retail, and nonprofit administration that's made her three times as formidable as many arts professionals twice her age. Though none of the above does her any harm, the 23 year-old Minneapolitan's most valuable assets are her remarkable capacity for identifying the relevant components of even the most unfamiliar problems and quickly generating elegant solutions for them and (most importantly), a degree of adaptability so robust that nothing daunts her--and even less slows her down."
Also my leg day ruled today. 10 sets of 15 rep squats, assistance work + stairmaster. Killin' it.
We finally started watching catching up on Cosmos and I’m very happy about it
all about the cosmos
I train 6 days a week and feel better than I ever have. My body is making progress but I still need to get stronger. Had the worst time today benching and then trying to do dips (granted the dips were AFTER bench). Still.... I need work.
My trainer says I'm too hard on myself, but I know that my own motivation will push me to seek better progress. Deciding whether or not to be on my own is the question. Will probably stick out this training for another month or two before making up my mind. I like having someone there to help me through things and to talk to in-between sets. Big plus is getting to know and talk to all the other trainers and meet people easier at the gym.
I'm starting to see where I want to go and what I want to do with my life. I know that it involves helping other people get (and stay) fit with the help of nutrition, lifting weights, and self-discipline. I'm so fucking happy and I know that nothing can hold me back.
Good vibes all around.
Bi's are feelin' good today thanks to my trainer and the best god damn gym in the state.
Going to a Pirate party tonight. Feeling awesome, sexy and comfortable. Hell yeah to training 5 days a week and eating clean. 👌
