"How did you get in here?"

It was at this question that Genis began shifting his stance uncomfortably. Sometimes it was hard to tell whether Sheena simply wanted an answer, or if she was angry, and he really wanted to avoid making her upset. Let's just say that if looks could kill, he would probably be dead by now.

"Well... that's... I used the secret door. You do remember that it's there, right?"

He hoped that she did. It would be pretty bad if people could just sneak up on her all the time like this. Then again, most didn't know where it was.

Startled by a voice Minako broke her trance only to realize the person speaking to her was the once she was just staring at. He cheeks went a slight rose pink color to show her embarrassed feelings but she did her best to hide it

"oh um, were in Juuban..where, where did you think you were?" she spoke nervously through slightly jittered giggles.

The embarrassment was to be expected, considering how long the girl had been staring his way, taking note of his particularly odd clothing and overall appearance, but Genis had not realized it. He had certainly felt eyes on him, but there was no method of telling how long it had been.

 Besides, it was because he had caught the attention of her that he felt comfortable asking her of their location. He managed to get a name, and despite the small comment made afterward, he was rather pleased. 

  "I don't recall there being a "Juuban" anywhere in Aselia. You're sure that's the right name?"  

It explained the absence of mana and the unfamiliar structure to the buildings -- only some resembling a few buildings in Altamira -- though it also made him nervous.  

Ah, right, he forgot to answer the second question. But, he supposed that what he said would get his point across.  This just shouldn't have happened! They had connections between Sylvarant and Tethe'alla, but that was different. This was its own world entirely, how was he going to get back to everyone? And worst of all--  

--he couldn't even ask Raine for advice.  She would at least have an idea of where to start, while he panicked so much, he had so little time to think at all. 

"It can't be..."

A interesting looking person in weird clothes and silver hair, Minako found herself staring blankly at the stranger, mouth open as if she was catching flies.

Feeling as if there were eyes upon him, Genis turned his head over his shoulder, only to catch sight of a blond with a very bright red ribbon tied in her hair. The way that she was staring at him was very odd, that was what he was thinking, that is until he noticed the difference between their clothes. Where was he exactly?  This was definitely not Aselia, as there was no sign of mana present either.   It looked like he would be unable to use his magic here. 

"Hey, excuse me? Where are we? I'm ... a little lost."

That was an understatement.

      This is fun.

      Sheena, Lloyd. Today is pie day.

I'm pretty sure it's Pi Day, Colette.

But everyone does usually celebrate with pie. Hey, should I make some? We can do it together! We just need to keep Raine out of the kitchen.

"Mama is Mama." 

She had no better way to explain. Sonata sat upon the floor and watched Genis. There was many books here, and she was curious, but didn’t want to let go of her own just yet. She held onto it just a bit tighter.

Perhaps if she learned, Mama and Papa would praise her. It was a very pretty language.

"Is…. ‘fessor Raine… nice?"

It seemed as if she were a little shy to be waiting. She left her little hand to her mouth and muffled her words slightly.

"Yeah, I get that."

The words would have carried more sarcasm if this was anyone other than a child. It was difficult to find out who this girl was when he had absolutely no clues.

Noticing her tight hold on the book, Genis became curious. What was it? It looked familiar somehow. He would have to take a look at it later.

"You should probably put that down... it looks like it's a little too heavy for someone as young as you to carry."

But what was someone of her age doing reading a book of that size, anyway? Most would never even attempt reading at that age.

"Raine's nice. Well, not so much when she's angry... but I don't think you will have to worry about that. You don't seem like the type of person who would ever get on her bad side."

"I never said I was smarter, just that you had answered your homework wrong" he informed Genis in a singsong tone, clearly enjoying himself. "Besides, the pickup lines are fun. Try out a few yourself sometime, you’ll see."

“It was still only one problem. Everyone makes mistakes, you know.”

Genis mumbled quietly in defeat, knowing for certain that Zelos was winning in this fight. However, that was not something that he would admit aloud.

However, it only took a few seconds until he started back up. Zelos deserved this anyway.

“Shouldn’t pickup lines be used sincerely? On a girl you actually feel something for? Not every girl will like a guy who flirts and then leaves.”

“ You use the same few on almost every girl. I’m actually surprised that they haven’t ever noticed it themselves.”

"No… It’s fine."

His lips formed a smile as he was genuinely concerned that talking as much as he had, only caused things to become worse. Sometimes it was difficult to stop in the middle of something, to become passionate concerning anything was also to become blinded as well. There was a failure of communication that was always present, and Genis had done nothing but remind him of it.

"He didn’t hurt me."

Things that anyone could be saying in this instance, right? He may have walked in circles long enough to trap himself in certain ways of thinking, but it didn’t mean he was blind in this situation. It was still nowhere close to resolving his problems with humanity, and perhaps this situation just came up sooner than expected.

"I’ll let this go…" Glancing back at Genis, the smile feeling so forced upon mention of the Chosen. "Let you handle it? Perhaps that might be easier."

He tilted his head slightly, the other shoe had to drop eventually.

"I don’t imagine you could afford to stick to me like glue, however."

As the realization hit that Mithos was being genuine, that he truly was in no way hurt, Genis smiled brightly. Most of his mistakes had rooted from the thought of his friend being hurt, so knowing that there was nothing, meant that no more mistakes would be made. There would be no more words said so quickly to ensure that his friend was okay.  Something still seemed off, and the way his eyes were on his friend showed that he was aware of it, but he never once questioned Mithos. He trusted that he would bring something up if it was bothering him so seriously. There was suspicion, but he had no idea that it concerned Colette.

"I'm glad you're okay, Mithos. "

The younger of the two said honestly.

"I want to be able to show you that this world is a good place, and that it will accept us half-elves with time. That's why I want to protect you. Get it?"

If the other continued to be hurt, of course he would think badly of their world. He wanted him to be able to smile again, since he was sure that was what his sister would have wanted, too.

"Of course, I'll have to be away sometimes, but that's just because of my studies. I'll stick by you as much as I can."

He promised that they would be friends forever, and he was still sticking with that promise. What kind of friend would let his friend go through trouble alone?

"I promise."
