a lot of people "reclaiming" the r slur ... really cannot reclaim it, i think . like, yeah you're neurodivergent, whatever . but you are not intellectually disabled . which is the group the r slur refers to . u aren't "reclaiming" it ur collecting it like pokemon & using it as a slur against other people. or just for attention! ur like "ugh what a [r slur]" and when people get mad ur like "well i can reclaim" even if u COULD reclaim that's not what ur doing, you're upsetting people on purpose to get a reaction.

also i don't think i've ever seen a person with an ID say they reclaim it . it really doesn't seem like a word that is being reclaimed at all or that should be reclaimed. the only people i see "reclaiming" it are non intellectually disabled neurodivergent people, and i think that says something. specifically it says that people should stop saying it.

this is what i've been trying to say. yes the memes are funny, but leaps and bounds more important than that is Luigi Mangione first and foremost is in danger.

while he is innocent until proven guilty in the court of law, far too many people have jumped on the idea of him being the shooter because it's funny. however. there are a few key things i personally need to point out.

the NYPD fucking sucks. no bones about it. they are a legitimately bad police force. they are deeply corrupt and losing public value.

they allegedly found him with the gun and a full manifesto on his person just sitting in a mcdonalds. why in sweet fuck would anybody able to pull off that kind of murder and then evade the police for days just be carrying that around with him??

just. think critically for 30 seconds about any and all media surrounding this case that you read, and especially remember that the public opinion, while it isn't necessarily supposed to be, is influential in court cases.

My mom died when I was a kid and my dad had to take care of us by himself on artist wages. If you’re struggling to make rent with your commissions, imagine trying to support two kids on top of that while trying to deal with the deaths of your wife and your father within a month of each other.

So yeah. I don’t feel bad for any of his family. They’ll do fine without him. They’ve got the money for it.

Also, it’s just an unfortunate lesson in facing consequences for evil behavior for his children. I love my father, but if he killed thousands of people yearly, even indirectly, I would grieve him but still understand why it reached that point.

Abusers and rapists also have children. Do you feel sorry for them when a victim fights back or gets revenge? Where do you draw the line of how far someone goes to correct evil? When does it go from understandable to outrageous? Lives were ruined by this man. Lives were lost because of his actions and the actions of other members of the company board.

At what point is it acceptable to you to retaliate?
