it is so difficult to put into words how much you mean to me. i’ve been thinking about where i was in my life before i met you, and how much has changed simply by being around you. you brought my smile back to me, warm feelings, silliness, and that inner glow that i had lost for a few years.

everything from here on is terrifying and makes me anxious as hell, but somehow you find the energy to keep me calm and walk me through my fears and doubts and anxieties and put me back together when i need it the most. i’m difficult to deal with, but you are amazing and i am so lucky.

Superman is a tiny tiny little rooster who unfortunately was a little bit stunted in the growth area when he was a little chick.   

Brother and sister, born at the exact same time.

He eventually caught up but by then the flock had basically bullied him so much for being tiny he’d been entirely ostracized and turned into a complete loner so now he has to live all by himself over with the cows, but he doesn’t care one bit because now he’s the leader of four big brown four legged chickens and honestly who can say that.

Also he’s super-cuddly.

i was proposed to on friday evening, at about 8pm. i genuinely have no sense of time as to when all of this happened but i want to remember every single bit of it. i have no photos, there’s no ring (but there is a necklace) and there was nobody else there to see it or hear it, but in that moment and the hours following it, i could not stop grinning, could not process the fact that i had just gotten the proposal i never knew i wanted from the dummy i’m in love with. it happened so fast, kind of unexpectedly, and just a flurry of words said and giggles and kisses and hugs and saying yes a thousand times over. 

he had plans, he’d asked my sister for her opinion on jewellery (we already have rings picked out for our formal engagement ceremony but they’re with his parents), he’d thought up a speech and everything. in a way it feels right that it ended up being different because you’re always reminding me that things don’t always go according to plan and that’s perfectly okay. 

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again - i never knew i could love someone this much, or be loved by someone this much. i’d go on any adventure with you.

2016 honour roll

cool things i did this year (in no particular order)

1. Involved in a design mentorship programme where my final project was a poster I designed based off someone’s poem - had my artwork on display for a week at the National Library! 2. Went for a drag show - so.much.fun. 3. Sold a bunch of old books on Carousell (it was a pain but hey I did it) 4. Went for a book-binding workshop (supporting a good cause!) 5. Enjoyed a trip to Penang with work colleagues - great airbnb, lovely food, good memories all round 6. Helped out at food cine.ma which was a whole new experience, and DFF for the third year running #boss 7. Got my tattoo - fucking love it. Finally. 8. Dance/Theatre for the year: NT Live’s Skylight, NT Live’s Hamlet, RENT, The History Boys, Vinayaka, Pooja Nansi’s You Are Here, 9. Concerts for the year: FrenchKiwiJuice/FKJ, Bon Iver (AMAZEBALLS),BlueNote Tokyo All-Stars Jazz, mouse on the keys (SO.GOOD.) , Gentle Bones (who SUCKED BALLS), Neon Lights (Blood Orange, Jose Gonzales, Sigur Ros, Yuna), Bombay Jayashree, 

10. Walked through the jungle surrounding my condo to find the Lentor Streams before it disappeared thanks to the MRT construction 11. Dated an idiot, had a lot of love-related firsts, found the love of my life (or so I hope) 12. MET GEMMA CORRELL at a workshop she held at SWF - got a photo and signed book! 13. Came in last in a pub quiz - woo bucket list 14. Made my very own terranium for my desk 15. Went to a cat cafe for the first time with colleagues (I’m quite allergic to cats) 16. Went on the Forest Adventure high-element obstacle course at Bedok Reservoir Park with colleagues and survived it even though it was tough at times #personalgrowth 17. Dropped four jean sizes from 30 to 26 (though 25 did fit me in Muji, hmm) this is really #goals and now i wanna maintain it 18. Went to Vietnam with Livia and had a fucking great time - loved her travel attitude and love her to pieces it was so much fun I hope we can start a tradition 19. painted a pretty satisfyingly pretty painting at art jamming with colleagues 20. been a total baller at work - doing loads of training, covering all teams and tons of campaigns, getting newbies up to speed, organising office events, holding interviews, being bandit in july + bandit of the year, been slaving my ass off and killin’ it workwise. 21. dressed up as my boss (my whole team dressed up as my boss) for the office halloween party
