Not everything we desire is meant for us. There are times when we must accept that no matter how complete our feelings may be, if we do not align with someone else’s story, it’s better to let them continue on their path. Instead of forcing things, we must learn to lay our emotions down on new verses, on a new page, in a new beginning.

Like a skilled poet, we must learn to erase, to revise, and to start again. Because in the right time, we, too, will find our perfect rhyme—someone who fits our rhythm, walks in step with our pace, and joins us in the poetry of life.

Hindi ko na kailangang i-replay ang lahat.

Alam ko na ang ending.

At ang totoo?

Wala ngang ending.

Minsan pala,

‘yung “wala” na ‘yon…

‘yung katahimikan,

‘yung kawalan ng sagot,

‘yung simpleng pag-iwas—

iyon na pala ang closure.

No dramatic confrontation.

No final talks.

No reply.

Nothing at all.

At sa katahimikang ‘yon,

doon ko nakita ang sagot.

Na hindi lahat ng kwento,

may magandang wakas.

May mga istoryang natatapos

kahit hindi pa nagsisimula.

May mga taong di kailanman

nagbalak sumabay,

kahit buong-buo mong ibinigay

ang sarili mo.

I gave everything in silence,

while you gave nothing at all.

And maybe,

that’s the real ending—

one that never even began.

I stopped asking “why.”

I stopped replaying the memories

that only I held on to.

Wala na akong gustong malaman pa,

kasi malinaw na:

hindi ako ang pinili.

At baka…

hindi naman talaga ako nakita.

So now I stop rewinding.

No more “what ifs,”

no more imagined scenes.

I close the book,

not because the story is finished—

but because you

never cared to write it with me.

Maybe closure isn’t always a door slammed shut.

Sometimes, it’s just silence

that stretches too long—

until you finally realize,

they’re never coming back.

I begged for signs.

Waited for words.

Prayed for moments.

Pero ngayon…

wala na.

Kasi napagod na rin ang puso ko

kakatingin sa pintuan na

hindi kailanman bumukas para sa’kin.

This is for the version of me

Dear You,

It’s been so many years—too many, really—since the first time I saw you. I don’t even know what it was exactly that drew me in, but from that moment, something in me quietly decided you were it. The one. And I’ve carried that feeling with me ever since.

You never looked my way. Not once. And I told myself it didn’t matter. That loving you from afar was enough. I built dreams around your silence, imagined words you never said, created moments that only lived inside my heart. I thought if I held on long enough, the universe might notice and reward that kind of love.

But it didn’t.

Instead, I learned that love—when not returned—starts to wear you down. It begins as a warm light and slowly becomes a quiet ache. Still, I clung to the ache, because it reminded me of you.

But now, after all these years, I’ve come to understand something painful but necessary: you were never mine to hold. Not even for a second. And maybe that’s okay.

This letter isn’t about blaming you. You didn’t ask for my love. You probably never even knew it was there. But it was there. And it changed me.
