Wow, that’s going on my wall.
New picture made in Adobe Illustrator to be animated.
Baking and mobile phones theme!
Wizard walk-cycle!
Made in Flash.
I dug up this little gem from my sparse DVD collection, It’s a 3rd year film from my Animation course at Bristol UWE made by Stuart. Can’t remember or find his second name because he doesn’t seem to exist on the internet for some reason!
It remains as one of my favourite films from Bristol UWE 2010 and I wanted to share it because I think we can all relate to this situation.
The final screening room was roaring with student laughter, because we all knew that he was trying to make a film using Maya with a cool story and this is what he ended up showing.
Genius.
Sketch I did of Joe last night.
I think I may have overdone it at the Bristol Comic & Zine Fair today!
I really liked this comic book by Lottie Pencheon. http://nonocomic.tumblr.com/
And this gem by Lize Meddings. http://lizemeddings.tumblr.com/
what do you think about joe gilgun as the joker? this isn't asking a request for a art or anything like that but do you think, just looking at his face and over all look, that would FIT joker?
I had to look him up, but that’s actually a really cool casting choice, I can definitely see him as Joker. Thanks for asking! :)
I’m really sad that they didn’t cast Joe Gilgun as the Joker, I think he would have been brilliant!
Bristol Drawing Club has started up again!
After finishing in June of last year Bristol Drawing Club http://on.fb.me/1Nf4eeS has re-opened inviting all people with with creative drawing inclinations or simply a desire to be around people that want to draw.
Tonight was fun and we started a new game which involves concertina paper and postcards where you start off with a postcard and write down a description of the picture.
You pass it on to the person on your left who has to draw what you described. At the same time drawing what the person on your right has described. Then, after folding over and hiding the previous line, you pass your drawing on to the next person, to which they describe in writing what you have just drawn, next person draws it, and so on, and so on...
We ended up with dozens of chinese whisper consertinas and I took one home which I know started off with a postcard showing a large pond with a few flowers and it ended up with a frog with ballet aspirations. It barely made it round the table so next time hopefully we'll go on for longer and end up with more variation stuff! x
Here’s my shy attempt at drawing Joe who I came with. I sketched him whilst he drew during the warm up.
Cat-spy...
A video I made 4 years ago for a troubled Dad.
I made this quickly (about two days) for an Eyeka.com competition for the Lien Foundation within the theme of 'Death is not a word that you should be afraid to say'.
It didn't win, however I got the most public votes so I went home with £60 which was nice.
I've only just recently realized that this video is a tribute to my Mother's boyfriend (the voice) who is extremely kind to me and my siblings, but who is also looking after six of his own grown up children in need of fathering far beyond their childhood years.
Comic Creations: Bristol 2014
Tonight's Comic Creations was great. Talks were given from both experienced and debut graphic novelists.
There was a distinct difference between the older artists and ones in their 20's or so. Mainly that one group didn't have a clue what they should say but were forced to talk for half an hour, and the other had an abundance of material and things to discuss.
It was great getting an insight into their processes and their thoughts and feelings during such huge amounts of work.
Mary Talbot wrote Sally Heathcote: Suffragette, Bryan Talbot directed the layout and Kate Charlesworth illustrated. It took one year to write the script and one year to draw the entire novel.
The confusion and chaos of the riots were beautifully depicted, and the really graphic telling of the forced feeding, during the prison hunger strike, was pretty upsetting to see on the big screen with oodles of back story spoken into your ear.
I was late in realizing that whilst taking a picture of Mary and Bryan Talbot (left) I was also taking a picture of Richard Williams, one of the living legends of animation, creator of Roger Rabbit and author of The Animator's Survival Kit, engaged in their graphic novel.
Wonderful to see older people getting into comic books...
(Apologies for bad quality pics, only had my little mob...)
Book signings with Nick Hayes, Isabel Greenberg and Fumio Obata.
Steve Bell, a politically charged cartoonist since 1981 gave a seriously interesting and entertainingly hilarious talk about his work and experiences. By the end, captivated silence snapped into eruptive applause from every palm in the room, perfecting the evening.
Found an unflattering picture of me in my notebook, drawn by loving bf, Rob Turner.
I actually think this is kind of awesome.
Notice new details each time I look at it...
First picture for expressive comic strip.
I'm making a print for my Mum for Christmas with my new found Adobe Illustrator skills! She likes painting and she likes playing golf with her boyfriend so this is what I have so far.
Any feedback is very welcome as always!
