On the short drive from campus to his apartment two things were becoming increasingly clear to Jimin:
1. the chances of Taehyung being able to solve whatever mess he had gotten himself into with you were dwindling by the minute, he had spent the whole drive home thinking of ways to orchestrate interactions with you that did not involve school, and
2. he really, really should not have pushed it so hard at the studio today, Taehyung was going to have to get Dr Kim to take a look at his ankle, which he was pretty sure, was sprained.
He hobbled his way to the elevator ignoring the concerned look from the doorman and some other residents in his building. Arriving at his floor he fumbled with the lock, a sudden bout of dizziness caused everything around him to sway, and he felt overcome with obscurity. In the midst of getting his bearings Jimin slumped against the door, accidentally putting his full bodyweight onto his injured foot, causing a sharp cry to escape him and ring out into the hallway.
The door to his apartment was flung open from the inside and a concerned Taehyung rushed to his side,
"Hyung! What's going on -- OH GOD! What happened ?! You look like shit"
"Thanks Tae, you know just what to say." Jimin hisses out, teeth clenched due to the burning pain emanating from his left ankle.
'Sorry, sorry, - lets get you inside' he apologized shouldering Jimin's weight - shuffling into the apartment.
Jimin's skin was sallow, pale, and starting to develop a layer of sweat. Taehyung laid him on the couch and scrambled to find a phone and call his father.
Dr Kim had been treating Jimin for as long as Jimin was born, through countless colds and flu's and then more serious injuries he'd developed over the course of his dance career. Jimin remembers the summer he had gotten chicken pox and Taehyung, against all caution insisted on staying by his side, until he contracted chicken pox too.
'In sickness and in health we'll be always together' Taehyung grinned with a toothy smile. It was a moment that struck something within Jimin and he vowed to be by Taehyungs side for the rest of his life.
Being a close family friend of the Park's, Dr Kim would always answer and personally visit when needed, regardless of how busy his practice was. After all if it weren't for the help of Assemblyman Park, perhaps Dr Kim wouldn't be running the most acclaimed practice in the region.
Dr Kim was a strapping man tall and broad shouldered with a hint of salt and pepper hair, kind eyes were framed with a pair of glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. His face was angular and sharp but his eyes were round and beguiling, it was easy to see the likeness between Taehyung and his father, their striking looks differentiated only by age.
Dr Kim entered the apartment and greeted his son before making his way over a barely conscious and sweat drenched Jimin. He fussed over him a little and then examined his ankle, concluding that it was indeed a sprain brought about by excessive strain and overuse. Jimin also seemed fatigued from maintaining poor eating and sleeping habits.
"Make sure he's eating well and getting enough rest, he has a slight fever due to exhaustion and his injury so I'm going to insist on complete bedrest for the next week and a half." Dr Kim said to his son.
Dr Kim prescribed fever reducers, and ice baths for the sprained ankle as well as ice packs and pain medication.
"And you too Taehyung-ah, eat well and on time, make sure you're getting enough sleep, alright?" his eyes softened as he considered the concern on his sons face. In times like these it was hard to remember that his son was all grown up. He cupped his sons face with a warm hand and loving smile "He's going to be okay Taehyung-ah don't stress so much".
"But what about his injury? Will it affect his dancing ??" Taehyung asked anxiously.
"As long as he takes it easy for the next 2 weeks and gives himself adequate rest and a much needed break, he'll be fine to take the stage again in no time. Just so long as he follows instructions and takes at least a 15 minute break in-between every hour of practice" Dr Kim reassured.
He gave Taehyung charge of Jimin and left to get back to his practice.

You were ready to get home and soak off the day in a bath with some bubbles. Hooray for the weekend, not having to worry about setting an alarm for the ass crack of dawn felt like a weight that was lifted.
You pulled into your apartment parking in a good mood. Your apartment was probably built with the intention of being student accommodation owing to its proximity to the college, but it had gained a reputation for being unsafe. A streak of robberies and rookie drug dealers on streetcorners scared students away from the area, no one lived on this side of town unless they were forced to.
Just as you set your keys on the counter of your kitchen, a shrill ring indicated that someone was trying to call you.
With a sigh you began rummaging through your bag before finding the phone. Seeing Mom flash on the screen you groaned internally. You could ignore it..... you should ignore it...... but if you did she'd spiral into a panic and try to come down here and that wouldn't exactly be the best option for either of you.
Sighing you answer the call 'Hi mom, what's up?' you greet.
'Hi honey, how are you? Did you get home safely?' your mom asks, throwing a barrage of questions your way.
'I'm okay mom, I just got in and was going to have an early night' you explain tiredly.
Your mother hummed 'So YN-ah I was thinking. Why don't you come out and spend a few days with Saebyuk and I? You deserve a break, and I was speaking the Deans wife, from the local college again, the post is still open, you'd finally get a chance to meet the faculty and interview for it'.
'Maybe...... I'll think about it mom, right now I just want to eat and go to bed, I'll call you tomorrow. I love you' you placated, hoping it would be enough to distract her.
Your mothers mission in life was to move you away from Mellow Woods, all things considered you understood why, for her this town was a painful reminder that her husband was taken from her too soon, and irrationally she feared the same would happen to you.
For you though, Mellow Woods held so many memories and you weren't ready to part with it yet. There was the ice cream place that your father took you to every Sunday, the woods where you went camping that one summer, the arcade that your dad took you to when you were bummed about being beat out for a scholarship and..... the cemetery that became his final resting place.
It was slightly easier for your mom to pack up and leave, seeing as she'd always harbored a bitterness toward the town, especially the Parks. She believed your father gave up his everything to serve Assemblyman Park as his right hand man and secretary, while foregoing his own family, dreams and aspirations. Ultimately she was right, he ended up giving up his life to protect the Parks, your father was killed in crossfire when someone tried to attack Assemblyman Park in a shootout and because it was such a controversial event close to elections the matter was buried instead of being investigated to full extent of law. The whole matter was treated in such a hushed manner that it lead your mom to harbor suspicions about what really happened that night.
Eventually she couldn't bear to be around constant reminders of her dead husband and moved away, she lived with her best friend Aunt Saebyuk and together they ran a local florist and gifting shop.
Growing up you'd never really noticed your fathers absence as much because your mother made up for it and when he was around he made up for it.
You'd made peace with his death and now you were trying to treasure the memories you had of him.

All things considered, Jimin was irritable, moody and ready to resume life as normal by Monday. His ankle was still swollen but he was prepared to hobble around on crutches if it meant he could get out of his damn apartment. Taehyung however, was a force to be reckoned with and willing to stand as human barrier at the door if it meant he could keep Jimin inside.
They'd binged most of Netflix, caught up on all their favorite series, and played a ton of pubg. However, today was Monday and Taehyung wouldn't be around for the entire day because he had to prepare his photography submission for their class exhibit.
Jimin's fathers secretary had been by twice to check on him and his mother had called, but he felt a pang of loneliness at the realization that none of his family had been to visit. His father was always too busy. For as long as he could remember Jimin had seen his fathers secretaries more than the man himself. He hadn't even known fathers could be loving and involved in their children's lives until he'd seen Taehyung and Dr Kim interact with each other. Growing up he longed for a relationship like theirs with his own father. However, Assemblyman Park was only a 'family man' when it was time for public appearances.
Prior to Taehyung, Jimin hadn't really developed emotional attachment to people in his life. His childhood consisted of a revolving door of nannies, his mother - a heiress turned socialite was always out partaking in or planning events and most of the time being his fathers social buffer at society functions. There was a time where Jimin thought that Eun Bi might become his best friend and confidant, but his noona, who had once been rambunctious, fresh faced and full of life had matured into a reserved and demure Assemblyman's daughter who was refused to hold eye contact with anyone for more than 5 minutes. He lamented the loss of his bold and strong noona who would often shield him from their fathers scrutiny and always persuaded the housekeepers to make his favorite snacks.
Sometimes he wondered if someone or something might have turned her into the recluse she became.

'What do you mean I have to personally tutor Park Jimin?' you demanded in bewilderment from Dean Kwon.
'You do realize the university has assigned tutors that are paid to do exactly this?' your tone bordered on disrespect but the incredulity of the situation got the better of you.
Dean Kwon sighed and held his hand up 'Look, I know the situation isn't ideal, but Park Jimin requested help through his father, specifically from you. He mentioned running into some issues with the way you graded his previous assignments and thought perhaps he would benefit from a more hands on approach. I understand your apprehension Ms Ln but we can't deny a request for help from one of the biggest benefactors of this university.'
You sat across from the dean stewing in silence as you contemplated what fresh hell this would unleash.
'Ms Ln, you do realize that denying this request could put your position at this university in danger, you're the newest addition to staff and one of the younger less experienced lecturers, you haven't even completed a year teaching, I think it would be in your best interests to comply with Mr. Parks wishes. It would also reflect poorly on the establishment and management staff if we accept this kind of insubordination.'
You exhaled and bit your tongue, 'I understand Dean Kwon, if Park Jimin could provide me with times that he finds suitable I'm sure we can find a way to honor his request.' You sneered internally at the last part.
'Actually Ms Ln he's left a number for you to contact him on.' Dean Kwon replied sliding over a piece of paper.
'Surely, you recognize how unethical this is, Dean Kwon, and if it should become a problem later on, who do you think will be blamed? Me, a lowly literature professor or Park Jimin, golden boy of Mellow Woods?' you ask softly.
Anticipating no response you get up and walk out to prepare for your next class.
You hesitated for a little, before pulling out your phone and texting your mum. Perhaps you should take your mother up on that offer.
