Bradleyâs interest piqued right away, he didnât think that Lily would choose graphic design as a career course, so he was rather surprised by the revelation. If he had to guess, he would wager that she was either in marketing or finance. Guess he would have lost that bet big time. âI gotta admit, Iâm a bit surprised to hear that youâre a graphic designer. I wouldnât peg you as someone who would take that route. Iâm guessing that youâre good with art?â The question was rather redundant he realized once it left his mouth. Of course she would good, she wouldnât choose to be a graphic designer otherwise. What kind of dumbass question was that anyway? He wanted to roll his eyes, but thought better of it because she might think that he was doing that for her sake, when in actuality, he merely wanted to do it for his own stupidity. What was it about him and acting like a fool around her? He shouldnât be like that. It wasnât like he was some hormonal teenager who was going on their first date. He was an adult damn it! And he never stumbled around the opposite sex, which was why all this was so perplexing. âIâm a computer programmer. People find it boring, but I donât knowâŠI kinda like what I do. Itâs different, you know? And our hours vary. What I like about it is that I have to bring work home with me. Iâm lazy like that.â He added a grin on top of the response. His gaze followed her movements as she went to retrieve what looked like a bunch of newspapers. âDamn, thatâs a lot of ads to go through.â He teased as he took one from the pile. âOh donât worry, Iâm sure weâll find you something. Iâll get you the best possible price. Itâs always good to know the condition of the car and just so you know, people like to swindle women out of their money because most women donât particularly look for defects. But fear not, Iâll make sure the transaction goes on smoothly.â Â
His surprised on her career choice made her chuckle for a bit. Her parents had wanted her to be a doctor, any kind of it, but she was having none of it. He guessed right about being good with art. In high school, she used to be part of the artistic group even if she denied that she was better than an average student with art. If she was doctor, she bet she wouldâve have met him or his brother, she would be working night and day and have no time for social life. âI guess, you could say Iâm good. Well, Iâm not good as I expect myself to be. I still have insecurities on how I do my art but other than that... I guess, Iâm pretty...â she paused for a bit, looking for the word that she needed to describe her talent with art, â...decent.â It was an interesting choice of word, and she wondered how he wouldâve reacted with it. She had finished her piece of donut and set down her plate to wait for him answer her question, then she can probably go get another piece for the both of them afterwards. She didnât know what to expect regarding on what his job was. For all she knew, he could be anything. But he certainly wasnât a doctor as he had mentioned about getting home and leaving work at work. She nodded at his revelation, interested enough regarding his career. What made him choose it? She was beyond that, it wasnât something she expected him to be. She chuckled at his comment about himself, amused at it. âWell, our jobs are connected, I believe. We did take a small amount of programming lessons back in college but it was super basic, I already forgot most of it.â She explained, hoping she would remember something as to impress him. The female pouted at his comment about the ads, her expression quickly turning into a laugh after that. âThatâs about right. And I donât want to be victimized in that way.â She commented, chuckling regarding that. âAnyways, go on. Letâs see what you can offer me while I go grab another set of donuts.â She said, claiming his empty plate and made her way to the kitchen.
