Zendaya Coleman is standing her ground.

The 19-year-old actress and singer appears on the July cover of Cosmopolitan and shared with the mag her experiences working with racially insensitive people and her return to Disney.

“I didn’t like my hair and makeup one time on a photo shoot, and my publicist told me, ‘You should just be happy with it — they haven’t had a black girl on the cover since forever,’” Coleman said. “She’s no longer my publicist.”

A few points to be made

1) Taylor wouldn’t cheat 2) It’s extremely possible that Taylor and Calvin broke up before we were told, so it may not be as sudden as we think. 3) Taylor is a level-headed human, and she’s mature. Don’t make posts about how awful she is, we’ve been following her for 10 years. 4) She’s probably really happy, she looked like she was in the photos. Please respect that. 5) This is only getting so much press because she’s Taylor Swift. Remember, she’s 26, and a person.

This generation has lost the true meaning of romance. There are so many songs that disrespect women. You can’t treat the woman you love as a piece of meat. You should treat your love like a princess. Give her love songs, something with real meaning. Maybe I’m old fashioned but to respect the woman you love should be a priority.

I want to say to all the young women out there, there will be people along the way who will try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work, and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.
