⠀⠀⠀⠀Su-Bong, it seemed, had never known true warmth until this very second. Nam-Gyu’s lips - wet, burning, smelling of iodine - enveloped him with the ravenous greed of a predator, rubbing sea salt into the cracked crevices of his chapped lips. Thin fingers slid along the line of his jaw, tenderly, guidingly, playfully tickling with the tips of their claws, and Su-Bong, as if enchanted, sank down limply into the embrace of a mermaid.

⠀⠀⠀⠀A foreign tongue slipped inside, and into Su-Bong’s mouth surged a thick, viscous, inhumanly sweet nectar. Its moisture bathed his gums, his palate, flowed between his teeth. His tongue went numb, becoming sluggish and heavy. The world behind his closed eyelids melted into a hot haze. The steady, deep rhythms of the ocean, rocking the boat, echoed in Su-Bong’s heart, tickled the tips of his lungs. Heat crept downward, from lips to throat, spreading through his esophagus like liquid metal, flowed through his chest, warming his ribs, and slid lazily, like lava, into his stomach.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Su-Bong, without thinking, swallowed, nearly choking. His brain turned into a thick, amber sludge inside his skull. All focus rested only on the lips of his mermaid, his Nam-Gyu, on the lips that drank his earthly life, gifting him, in return, with sea-born immortality.
