Hi there,
Everyone has hidden parts. People are complex, and we all have things about us that are stigmatized or surprising or weird. Telling the truth about yourself is complicated. Sometimes you get to do it; sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you have to do it; sometimes you have to hide.
We want to hear about those parts of you. We want to make space for you to tell stories about your truth.
What should I send? And where do I send it?
Please feel free to contribute whatever you think makes sense: poems, open letters, photos, essays, rants, drawings, lists, diary entries, or anything else you’d like. Please submit via email: send yr stuff to KEEPERZINES [at] gmail.com
Ok, but -- Divulge?
Well, yeah. We want to hear about the times you had to keep your mouth shut and the times you just couldn’t anymore. Maybe you had to admit to a crush that you’re a recovering Phish head or a closet comic book nerd. Maybe you’re living with a chronic illness or grappling with the aftermath of trauma. Maybe you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community and you, at some point, had to tell someone that. Capture those feelings and those stories in some art, and then send it to us.
Ok, but -- Do you have to use my real name?
Nope. Spilling hidden parts of you can be weird and scary. (And for certain groups of people -- LGBTQ people, for example -- it can often be dangerous.) Just tell us the name you want us to use.

Deadline for submissions is AUGUST 1. We’ll be making a full-color PDF, and black-and-white print copies on request ($$).
I’m extending the deadline for my next zine, u g l y, until the end of the month*.
Please send me your work on the theme of ugliness! And tell your friends to! It’s going to be a great collection of work by some very rad folks, and you can be among them.

despite the name, it doesn’t actually have to be about travel via car per se – just what it means to be a woman moving through this world (especially physically, but movement in other regards is cool too).
have you ever gone on a trip that inspired you? have you gotten catcalled in a foreign country? did you fall in love in a car? where do you want to go, but can’t? what were the roads like between one of your homes and another? do you get anxious on planes or trains? would you be secretly happy to temporarily lose some luggage on a trip? and lastly, why are so many of our travel narratives about men? tell me everything.
your writing does not have to be explicitly feminist or political (though that’s welcome, too!); i just want to collect writing about travel from the points of views of female folks.
