We all know the hotchreid energy was off the charts in damaged when Hotch starts taking his clothes off to bare knuckle brawl a dude he and Reid are trapped in a cell with but we simply cannot ignore the fact that the other 75% of the episode is David Rossi being absolutely insane in every possible aspect

i keep seeing people saying “i hope season 19 calls out rossi for creating a lot of these unsubs through his books.” and i’m just like? hasn’t the show addressed this? multiple times? probably more times than you could count on one hand?

i’ve seen some people saying “i hope the team calls him out.” and again. like. why would they do that? he knows. why add insult to injury? plus, in canon, we literally have jj saying she took this path because of his books, so they have created some good too— and yes, while the bad still outweighs that, we can’t ignore that that’s why we have jj doing all the good she’s done. (mind you she said this to him in an episode where the show was acknowledging the damage his books have done).

I'm gonna say this with as much gentleness as i can but the criminal minds fandom has the worst memory about their own show. I see takes like that alllll the time and it's like, did you watch the show..? Lol. Rossi's guilt over his books has been in multiple episodes, and we have had more than one scene of other characters telling him he did the right thing to write those books. So what exactly would they call him out about?? 😭😭 they support him! The whole BAU respects Rossi as one of the founding fathers of their entire profession, they constantly look to him for guidance and knowledge and support, and ultimately, they are going to focus on the good he's done and the lives he's saved as the bottom line. I think fans often have a hard time differentiating between "i don't like this character" and "this character is objectively garbage" tbh
