“I’m hoping for the second one, you know I can’t bear it if you were disappointed. If anything, I’d worry about how you barely noticed till’ now.” Holly nodded with a mock serious face. “Uh-huh, and I guess Freya just got up and took them, then?”
Her eyes and heart softened to her old friend. She placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, a small smile tugging on her lips. “You know both of you are always welcomed here. Three of you, if Camden would ever like to join. I’d love to meet him, he sounds very good for you. Both of you.”
“I have to admit, I can’t imagine Camden doing yoga, but I’ll suggest it. I know he’d like to meet you too, and he might just benefit out of it.” In the presence of her old friend, Holly’s head fell onto Debbie’s shoulder in a show of deep trust. “I’m so happy, it doesn’t seem real sometimes.”
It’s understandable I was the same way with – with my little cousin. I practically raised the little girl when I was in my early twenties because her parents were struggling with money. But I just want you to know that you can trust me with her okay? And if you don’t feel comfortable with me being with her, don’t feel like I’m trying to force anything on you. I just want to help, but only if that’s what you want too.
I do. I do trust you, oddly enough. I find it hard to be away from Freya, but I think it will be good for me to see someone that isn’t family, or Camden, with her. {Holly patted her shoulder, shooting her a warm, small smile.} Are you an only child, by any chance?
