There had been no trigger that she could think of, but there she was, crying again. Hayley’d found herself crying without warning more times than she’d like to admit in the last day or so. Time had gone a little fuzzy - she wasn’t sure what day of the week it was, but it didn’t matter. What mattered was getitng the tears off her face and under control. She wiped her face, taking a deep breath. Strong, she breathed into her hands. She would be strong. She had to be strong.
Camden was never particularly skilled at the consoling blubbery tears thing. However, in certain cases-- including the one he has swaddled against his chest --his earnest expression and compassion really came through. He held onto the blonde the way she held him many nights in a row. He remains quiet for several minutes, allowing Hayley to pull herself together (and if she couldn’t that was still okay. He knew she’d be able to eventually.) “Shit Hayley.” Cam grimaced at himself. “Did’ya want to talk about it?”
