I actually legit feel like coming back to Meg sometimes
I wonder how well Iâd write her now, with a bit of distance from the fandom (and show) because everythingâs a lot better when you stop taking all of this stuff so seriously, and just, laugh about where the showâs gone like 13yrs in.
I had fun writing a demon.
As much as I love her, and you guys, I really do, Meg just hasnât clicked the way that some of my other characters have, I gave her a month and it just doesnât feel right.      âHi, Meg.        ââ Come to pay your        respects to your king?"Â
  âWouldn't you like that,       if I finally bent my knees     to a Winchester as the angels do?â
Lucifer scoffed back, glancing down to look at the silver cross which hung on a chain around his neck - the man who found him had given this to him and while he attended church he always found himself engrossed in other activities in the time he put aside to read.Â
"Iâve been busy, sue me."
At the mocking tone of her voice, Lucifer rolled his jaw - his teeth ground together as if a warning that it would be stupid to do that again; he felt above this creature.Â
Luciferâs face fell to something of disbelief, looking slightly disgusted by the idea that he was going to be thrown inside a metal cell: âMy cage?â The archangel questioned, âSo what your saying is, the âmagic man in the skyâ is trying to get my big brother to throw me into a cell?âŠOh and that Iâm Satan.â
Ebony eyes darted left and right, checking the rapidly emptying streets as the weather above turned more foul for fear that someone may be listening in and deciding that she's to forcefully removed from the street. She acted on the fear of Crowley supporters or angels being a little too close and discovering something she would far rather be a secret.
âSure, put it like that and it'll sound crazy to anyone who's not familiar with the supernatural.â Meg spoke with scathing words, an edge to them that insisted he was the one at fault here for simply not knowing. Technically, that was the case right now.
âYou can see beyond this meat-suit, and you get that I'm a demon; it stands to reason that we've a father and enemies then. It's not rocket science, Watson.â This was Meg just barely keeping her frustration in check and gripping tight to her patience. She rolled her eyes and took to surveying the street again, forcing her next words through her teeth.
âNow let's move this inside. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Less eyes there.â
Enemy of my enemy - Apadiel & Meg
Apadiel arches a single eyebrow at the idea that Lucifer was in line as leader after anyone, but Megâs heart in in the right place now, which will have to do.
Itâs there, just behind her teeth, the desire to ask how things are in Hell. A superficially stupid question: Hell is Hell. However, within that definition, there are nuances, and she would ask about specifics, about two other angels and how they were faring. But she wonât, doesnât trust Meg enough to give her that information. Asking after them means knowing them, means that perhaps she cares, and even if they hadnât cared enough to follow her out of the pit, she wonât betray them like that.
Apadiel would like to suspect that she will have immunity anyway, but sheâs unsure. She is loyal, and her love for Lucifer remains unchanged, but nonetheless she feels like a failure when she considers what sheâs done with her freedom, a privilege that Lucifer is still denied. What good can she be, when even this demon seems to be doing more to prepare the world for the arrival of the Morningstar?
"Heâll need more than that, but itâs a very good start." She tilts her head a little, eyes narrowing as she examines Megâs words, turns them in her mind. "There are demons that arenât loyal to him? Who do they follow?"
Demons need leaders, so she has no doubt that the only thing that could sway their loyalty is some other charismatic being that would seem like a better offer. Fickle, that theyâre not willing to wait for him, that they would take some imposter in his place.
Whoever it is, they will have to be taken out before Lucifer arrives. There must be no rivalry in the legions of Hell.
Arched brows rose in a suggestive manner, Meg said so many words with that single, small movement. She knew how to tell a story with a bat of her lashes and this was how she chose to communicate with Apadiel. âThere are some, who relish in the anarchy, some who don't want anyone telling them what to do.â At least Meg could proudly admit that she was never one of those demons and that she played by the rules as best she could. She reclined in her seat, small back pressing neatly against the metal and catching the pressure for a mere second under the leather of her jacket. Then her arms were folded and she tasted her next words on her tongue, words smoothly sliding into a bitter coating as the matter became more personal to her.
âbut, then again, there's some who want to put this petty, cross-roads salesman on the throne.â
The demon's snowy white teeth sank into her pink lip for a moment, catching it and tasting the strawberries that the meat-suit had chosen to wear. Meg found herself torn for a mere moment before divulging what she knew to be true.
âWhile I was down there, I heard the name Crowley one time too many. â She had in fact met the dick far too many times. Pompous and full of himself in all of the wrong ways, she had learnt to hate the demon with a ferocity that she hoped would now help her in the war that they were about to wage on him and those that would support a mere cross-roads demon.
#this makes me really emotional #because he is the only one who is gentle with her #and she doesnât know what to do with that #what does a demon do after a year of torture and violation #and this celestial being takes the time to treat her kindly and carefully #she doesnât think she deserves it #not from him #not from anyone #she would have healed on her own like she always does #headcanon that he canât heal her because sheâs a demon and it doesnât work like that #but he makes the decision to touch her and look her right in the face because she is beautiful and strong and they have suffered through so #like sheâs spent a year under the thumb of someone she fucking despises #and heâs spent months under someone elseâs control #theyâre operating on such a similar wavelength despite being from completely opposite sides of the train tracks
