Introductory post. I made this blog to contain the sheer amount of ideas and writing prompts for this small niche fandom. People can submit their own prompts and story ideas and I'll add it to the queue/post list.
Happy Keiper day. I decided to post a thing. It's still very much a work in progress, but I figured I'd acknowledge the day somehow. So have a fic. There is a lot of logistics behind the scenes with this one, and kind of serves as a Dave origin story. It's also way more slice of life than I typically write. Anyway, here: Canadian Plains of Oblivion
Jesper finds himself run down and in need of a vacation. Dave has the perfect solution -- Take some time off work, and go to his summer home in the Soul Cairn. Kevin and Keith decide they want to come too, so the next day they meet up to leave for their vacation. One problem though...
Dave is using his Necronomicon. And he forgot to say please....
Chapter 3 is live. Now with 100% more Dave origin lore. :)
During the episode High Rock Forevermore, Jesper does step through the portal.
When Keith reaches it and doesn't see him on either side, he follows.
Once he finds Jesper and is sure he's ok, Keith has to explain to the guard why he knowingly stepped through a one-way portal that brings somewhere farther from Whiterun than the Imperial City... and he doesn't have Dave and Kevin to help shield his motivations.
Yes. 1000000% yes.
This. This is semi canon and that's the hill I am dying on because you DAMN WELL KNOW that's exactly what would go down if Jesper decided to go through the portal.
Wait, I know love you.
When you used the Elder scroll to try and go on a date with Hulda, and Jesper distracted you, and you messed up the timeline. Keith's gonna be pissed.
Amaund Motierre is particularly keen on getting the attic room instead of hanging out in the back of the Bannered Mare, and Jesper senses he doesn't want to argue with him or Rexus. He intends to sadly go back to the barracks for a while, but Keith, knowing he wouldn't be comfortable there, offers a spot in his hideaway instead.
Aka: Logistical convenience—speedrun edition!
Logistical convenience is best convenience lol. I love this idea a lot.
Jesper loses his memory after falling from a high place and hitting his head. He doesn't remember who he is, his job or his family. Dave and Kevin have to go, so they ask Keith to help Jesper with his memory loss while they're gone, but instead of just telling Jesper who he was, Keith lies. It's not just little white lies either; he tells Jesper he's was a bard that did various part-time work in Riften. This prompts Jesper to go to Riften, and causes Keith to lie more to keep things going.
They end up dating each other and Keith doesn't have the courage to admit to Jesper that he's been lying to him. When Dave and Kevin show up, they're pissed at Keith for having told Jesper almost nothing but lies, but now they don't want to tell him the truth either because he just looks so happy now.
Jokes on all of them because the more time passes, the more Jesper remembers. He doesn't make much of it at first, because he only remembers the good things first. Things only start going south when he starts remembering the bad stuff, which causes a really bad reaction from him.
Eventually it all comes crashing down, Jesper admits he remembers everything, Keith apologies for lying. They still love each other and Jesper admits he's happier now, so he decides to stick with being a bard. They kiss. The end :)
I remember talking about this prompt before. Perfect for the list. Added. :D
Keith, after Dave-adjacent shenanigans, ends up turned into a frog.
Jesper, due to confusing High Rock political twists, sort of counts as a prince.
The newly amphibian thief takes advantage of the situation to act flirtatiously; but once the situation is resolved, and his humanity is restored with a fairy tale kiss, he finds himself unable to stop.
Okay yes. Disney move over, we have a much better story idea right here. Yes. Posted!
An unspecified Last Dragonborn decides to romance Jesper, finally making things official with their favorite pack mule. They propose, choose the location, and Jesper follows them nervously.
But suddenly, just before the vows are spoken, Keith barges in with an objection: he's been secretly in love with Jesper the whole time, and never had the courage to confess before he realized he was going to lose his chance forever.
What is Jesper gonna do now?!
(He's ending up with Keith, duh. The Dragonborn is going to fail a master speech check against Keith respect Keith's boldness and give Jesper time to think, and there's many other modded followers with romance options single and available people out there!)
This is a scenario type prompt I have spoken about with a few friends, though less vague. Still, a perfect skeleton for someone to make a fic from. We all know Keith has 100 in all skills speech related lol. DB had no chance haha. Posted!
Civil war setting:
The Dragonborn decides to take a side in the civil war, and the siege on Whiterun approaches. Kevin is begrudgingly called to participate, because of his knowledge of the city; in exchange, his brother promises he'll be recognized as a "real" Stormcloak soldier.
When the time comes, however, Kevin sees Jesper being thrown in the frontline as a meat shield, and he just can't do it. Luckily, Keith had seen the siege coming, swoops in to grab them both, and leads them to a safe hideout while the battle takes place.
Kevin freaks out, has an existential crisis, and worries he can never go home because of how little commitment he has shown to the cause. Jesper doesn't want to leave his friend alone in that state, and worries that, depending on the outcome, he might either be accused of being a spy because he ran off with Kevin, or lose his job because of his race. Keith has to babysit them. Either way, they lie low for a while, and get into a small routine of being in each other's space and solve issues together.
The ending ultimately depends on the outcome of the civil war, possibly with the Dragonborn's or Dave's mediation to either make Ulfric forgive Kevin, or get him a spot in the Legion (or possibly a higher role, due to being the former Jarl's brother, and not overly interested in rebellion). Jesper and Keith would develop feelings in the meantime, due to being close for a while and surviving together; if Jesper's work-related worries realize, Keith will invite him over to Riften while he figures out what to do next (and help convince him to be a bard, of course).
This is fantastic. I really hope someone writes this because this is really good plot.
A meta AU was sent to my messages. :)
AU where Keith is a modded NPC from another Skyrim save file, and in his original timeline, he fell in love with Jesper but never could confess to him due to not being the player character and him not having any romance options. The save file got deleted and Keith lost his memory. The player created a new save file using Keith has their preset to do a thief playthrough. When they were done, the player also deleted that save file before creating the current one. In the current save file, Keith is an NPC again, except he has retained everything from when he was used as a player character due to a glitch. At first he thinks that's all that happened, but when he meets Jesper for the second time, he starts remembering the first save file. He falls in love with Jesper again, but this time, he has the ability to confess because the game still considers him a player character rather than an NPC.
However, Keith believes Jesper doesn't remember anything from any of the other save files. What he doesn't know, is that the glitch can spread, which it does, and eventually Jesper remembers all the other save files as well because of it. But unlike Keith, Jesper doesn't take it well because he also remembers what it felt like to be deleted, since the player removed Jesper's mod from the second save file (which they did not do to Keith's because he was needed to be a preset).
Jesper has a breakdown, Keith is heartbroken, but Dave is able to help because, (predictably lol) it turns out he's the very first player character imported from Oblivion, and the reason Keith's mod glitched in the first place. (Because of course lol) So Dave walks Jesper through his existential crisis, which leads him to calm down and remember that he had also fallen in love with Keith in their first shared save file (which is a few save files after Dave's first save file).
Jesper ends up finding heartbroken Keith, and they talk and confess their feelings and are happy to finally be able to be together. But there's also a new dilemma: the glitch is spreading to other mods and causing the world to start breaking. Being the source of the glitch, Dave can fix everything and have them be returned to their regular NPC state to prevent the glitch from spreading again, but that means they would forget everything, including each other.
And there is also a risk that, even if they meet again, they won't be able to get together again because they'll both be considered NPC's by the game.
Eventually, they come to a solution: Dave will fix the glitch, but since Keith was the one spreading the glitch and no one else, only Keith will be fully reset, meaning only Dave and Jesper will keep their memories. Jesper promises Keith that he will find him after the reset and that they will be together again.
So Dave does his thing and fixes the glitch and resets Keith to his NPC state. Jesper keeps his promise and finds him, but NPC Keith is not having it. Turns out Keith not remembering anything is making things a lot more difficult. Jesper is heartbroken and ready to give up, so he gives Keith an amulet, which was originally gifted to him by Keith himself long before Dave did the reset. Turns out the amulet, by originally coming from Keith's mod and having been preserved from the reset by Jesper, contains Keith's memories. So as soon as Keith touches the amulet, he remembers everything. They both cry and kiss each other, the end.
These criminals have caused me a small art block, therefore they don't get shading nor adjustments! Truly despicable.
But either way, here's an interpretation of the Signis siblings, based on what we have so far!
Even without the shading or adjustments this is fantastic. Love Keith's cheeky smile here. All of their expressions are great honestly. <3 Love your art.
Slay the Princess AUs (spoilers):
Dave got very drunk and confused, and put the guys in the situation. Keith is the Protagonist, Jesper is the Princess, neither remember it clearly. They find out during the game, and break free by the end.
Dave IS the source of the Narrator, the two ARE the gods he was trying to contain, and Keith IS supposed to slay Jesper to prevent the end of the World. Things go as they do in the route where they decide to not stay as incomprehensible entities, and that reflects in the ending being a prequel to their current incarnations. Basically they give up godhood, end up as people in a different universe, and are destined to find each other again even if they don't know why. Also Dave is fine because... because.
Oh interesting! Posted!
Keith and Lilah's little brother performs the Black Sacrament on Keith, and Lilah is the one responding. Two possible options on why and how:
He's just an asshole, but too lazy to get all the way to Skyrim, track his brother down and settle whatever issue they had. Lilah is not thrilled, but she has to do something about it, and it's better if she does it herself (and keeps the deal open to loopholes) rather than pass the contract to someone else.
Spinoff of A Guard's Fate: he's furious about Keith contributing to the defeat of his favourite Daedric Prince, and in addition to being lazy, he's also rightfully hesitant to approach a Daedra-kicking fighter and his Dragonborn boyfriend. That becomes an extra bump on the road of their upcoming adventures.
OH-hohooooo I love this one! Especially that second option. I think that might be one for the drafts.... POSTED!!!
Black Desert AU:
Dave, Jesper, Keith, Kevin, and Lilah get brought to the world of Black Desert by Marni, probably because all regular adventurers are too busy fishing (or whining amongst themselves and gambling) at the moment. The mad scientist brought them over to recover something he needs for research, and sends them off to a mission in Atoraxxion. Jesper might be a genderbent Shai, due to the musical focus and it being a powerful support class. Keith and Lilah would be a Succession Ninja and Succession Kunoichi respectively, due to their being the most stealth focused classes with a shortsword and optional kunai. Kevin would be an unleveled Warrior (Succession or Awakening, eventually), the sword/greatsword class that can work as a tank if built correctly. And Dave would be an Archer, because long-lived elf with explosive arrows. Things wouldn't go particularly well, at least until Jesper and Kevin don't get on the same page as the rest of the team in terms of fighting skills: they would receive particular attention and training from the rest, but of course, Keith would especially focus on Jesper. The utter lack of queerness in the world around them might cause some degree of frustration, and serve as a motivation to leave as soon as possible; as well as allow Jesper to go back to looking like an actual adult, rather than an elf child. The less impressive fighters would eventually catch up with the rest of the group, they would survive the dungeon, and get the McGuffin. Marni would send them back, and with everything back to normal, everyone looking their age, and diversity being an option, gayness may finally ensue.
This is quite amusing lol. Posted!
Doki Doki Literature Club crossover:
Jesper ends up as the nerd student main character after flipping too far into a Necronomicon. Things are like normal in the first act, except he just wants to go back to his boyfriend, and wishes the girls stopped acting so weird around him. Then the second act happens, except Monika is a better programmer than she is in the original game, and the one breaking stuff is Keith: he found out what happened, and is trying to get Jesper back by messing with the Necronomicon. Between Keith causing errors and Monika trying and failing to fix them on the go, the rest of the game goes mostly as usual until Jesper is left with just Monika. Right then, Keith rips a piece of the Necronomicon: she is deleted, the game ends, and Jesper is back. He's pissed when he learns all the weird creepy stuff was due to Keith's tinkering, but he did just save him, so that's fine after all. They both decide book clubs are probably not the best idea, to Dave's disappointment.
Oh man haha. This one is creative. Could be an interesting avenue, especially if the author chooses to go down a horror or psyc-horror path. Posted!
Omori AU (with relevant spoilers!):
Through uncertain means—can't always be Dave's fault!—, Jesper and Keith are transported to HEADSPACE, the dream world in SUNNY's mind controlled by OMORI. In there, OMORI morphs them into looks and roles more suitable for the current iteration of the dream world, and forces them to act as a child-friendly caricature of themselves: Jesper ends up as a clumsy HAROLD, Keith as a sneaky SPACE PIRATE. They are aware of the process, but also know that if they were to do anything odd, or that might break the world OMORI is crafting, he might just remove them or worse.
During one of the dreams, Keith kidnaps Jesper as part of a wider gag, possibly about SPACE BOYFRIEND trying to make his spaceship more welcoming for SWEETHEART before their first recorded in-game breakup. Now free to talk when OMORI is not nearby, they try figuring out how to get out of there and back home. But things are already starting to warp and crack.
They come across SOMETHING, and in a lucky moment of intuition where they realize it might be more than an antagonistic boogie man from a child's dream, they chase after it. Before OMORI can notice and stop them, they follow SOMETHING through the less stable areas of HEADSPACE, from the LOST FOREST, to DEEPER WELL, and eventually BLACK SPACE. They meet some of the most mysterious and knowledgeable characters, such as DADDY LONGLEGS, some BLACK SPACE dwellers, ABBI, and a version of BASIL and MARI who know the truth OMORI is hiding from SUNNY. They learn the dream world they are inhabiting will collapse soon, as SUNNY's subconscious is once again trying to get through OMORI's repression to reveal the traumatic event hidden underneath HEADSPACE. But because they do not belong to this world, there's no saying what is going to happen to them when it happens and OMORI resets HEADSPACE once again: they might persist, their minds might be wiped to become like any other inhabitant of this dream world, they might get lost in SUNNY's subconscious, they might just be erased.
The uncertainty is terrifying, and they still don't know how to escape. They tell each other everything they always wanted to, just in case there is no solution and they can't be saved; and then they start planning. Their best chance is stopping OMORI from resetting the world. To do that, they have to help SUNNY remember before OMORI can stop him.
So they start working with SOMETHING to speed up the process. They fight besides it when there's a chance to, they sabotage landscapes and scenarios OMORI had carefully crafted; Keith assists in disseminating clues to be found during dream adventures, and Jesper speaks of love and friendship somewhere near SUNNY's conscious to encourage him to meet his real life friends again.
The plan is difficult and dangerous, but it works. SUNNY's trauma resurfaces, OMORI is defeated and his purpose is over. Through his obviously heart-breaking but increased awareness, SUNNY recognizes them both as foreign elements who are not supposed to be in his head; and as the paradox emerges, they are removed from his mind, and end up back in Nirn.
Keith and Jesper follow up on all they shared while wondering if they could save themselves, they both commit to having a better relationship with their siblings, and decide that they are also going to come to terms with the ghosts of their pasts, having now seen just how dangerous unprocessed trauma can be.
And in SUNNY's reality, we might not know how things go for him after the ending, but it's surely gonna be weird, familiar and oddly sentimental when Skyrim is published in that timeline too (and why would there not be a TES V: SKYRIM - OMORI EDITION anyway?).
This one is another well thought out prompt. Omori isn't a game I am super familiar with either, but it's an interesting premise. Posted!
This one is vague, but: Rain World AU.
Dave is an iterator (Dawn of Eternity?). He thinks he has a triple affirmative (but he actually just glitched), his communication systems are damaged, and he can only contact the nearest iterator, Hissing Dragon. He happens to have this slugcat he calls "Jesper" lying around, and as iterators love doing, he sends him on a mission so he can submit the info in the form of a pearl to Hissing Dragon for review. The other iterator also has a slugcat they call "Keith", and sends him off to meet Jesper halfway because they don't think Dawn of Eternity's messenger is that impressive.
The slugcats meet. Keith tries to steal Jesper's pearl many times. Jesper finds many snacks for both. They vibe and enjoy slugcattin' around. Mostly don't walk straight into lizard mouths. Get closer the more they survive together, and start doing whatever slugcats do when they like each other.
They complete the mission, and Hissing Dragon, who's had enough of Dawn of Eternity's glitchy ramblings, gives them repair materials to fix the other iterator so he hopefully won't annoy just them anymore. They comply, and then go off to the slugcat place to keep slugcattin' happily ever after (or at least until Saint).
Ok, I knew/know almost nothing about this game lol. Not even gonna lie, on the initial read of the prompt, it sounded like Latin lol. After looking up the game and reading a bit about it, now what you wrote makes more sense and is really cute. If anyone who likes the game gives this a go, I'll definitely read it. ^_^ Posted!
