Today's pic is from Vietnam again. It was a great relaxing vacation in Hoi An and gave me a lot of opportunity for taking photo's. The image below is taken at a fish factory and the lady is stoking the fire for the boilers. The heat and smoke was tremendous, I don't know how she did it in the 35c temp!!
The light was very poor with loads of smoke and the ISO is up 8000. On the right hand top left you can see a 'face'..... spooky I never noticed this till I tried to edit it!1
Hungry Ghost on Flickr.
Of course, I forgot to mention that Tonight is Hungry Ghost Festival in Hong Kong. May the ghosts be well fed this evening :-)

Well Yesterday I went out taking photo's on HK Island, the intention was that I would take street photo's in the rain. By the time I arrived the rain had stopped, bad planning on my part.
I therefore resolved to make the best out of a bad situation and wandered around for a while. I came across the advert below which is near Jardine House in Central. I am curious as to why the the Australian Labor Party would have adverts here? My understanding is that there are less than 50k Australians here.... surely the elections won't be that close?

Well, I thought I might start to add stuff here about my photography in Hong Kong, maybe people will be interested, maybe not. It will be my account of what it's like here.
This weekend we have still be impacted weather wise by last weeks passage of Typhoon Utor which has continued to bring rain to HK. However this has also decreased temperatures, which for a Gweillo is a great relief.
Yesterday I spent the early hours taking photo's of the Sunday Morning Drive, what's this you ask? Well as the name suggests it's a random assortment of people who drive early on a sunday morning to a number of locations around HK. People usually meet up and have breakfast. Given the wet weather this reduced the number of cars out.
Now being a photographer this is a good opportunity to capture great cars on the road in the HK countryside, however does entail an early start.
Hong Kong is an awesome place for car photography with a friendly bunch of SMD drivers.

Morning Exercise on Flickr.
Imagine exercising on this beach each morning. Must admit it was crowded from 4am-6:30am after that quiet for 4-5 hours before people arrived to sunbathe....... why am I not surprised !!

Do you know this lady? on Flickr.
Missed connection, took this photo in Hoi An on Thursday last week. Meant to swap details with the lady, but I arrived late, anyone know her?
Running on the Dock on Flickr.
Taken recently in Vietnam, in background a new bridge is being constructed to open up further areas for hotel development. This will provide direct access rather than the current wooden ferry boast service for people and motorbikes only.
