He clearly wasnât going to get to them and he really didnât know what else to do, but he didnât understand who stealing was far better than just getting money from willing people. It didnât make sense at all., to him at least because he was trying to help and not let the other go to jail.
Eduardo pulled out the food truck business card as his last shot. He offered to him. âI work here. We sell cheap, but good food. The plates are not small either, so come anytime.âÂ
Kel snatched the card and shoved it into one of their many pockets. âIf itâll get you to leave me alone, man.â They readjusted their jacket, huffing with a bit of frustration, but then froze, their hands still on the lapels of the jacket.Â
Kel stared at the man, eyes narrowing slowly, and asked, âWhat kind of food? And how cheap? 'Cause Iâm picky about this shit. Also, whatâs your average review on Yelp, âcause I ainât goinâ if youâre givinâ out hot garbage.â
kareem-saliaâ:
âWell I wasnât exactly trying to have a heart to hear with your mom,â he told them, resisting the urge to just hug them like he wanted to. âSo you what..? You just ghost altogether? You donât even give me a fucking text, dude. You know you can stay with me whenever, you could stay with my cousin. Why are you acting like you dontâ have options? And donât give me that I have a future bullshit,â the told them, clearly frustrated by mostly worried. he eventually decided to give in and pulled Kel closer, wrapping his arms around them tightly. âI was fucking worried about you,â he told them, his voice lowering as he held them tightly. âYouâre my family, Kel. You canât just dip like that.â
âTexting you wasnât exactly the first thing on my mind,â Kel mumbled into Kareemâs chest. âWas more like, âoh fuck, this actually happened.â And I canât breathe.â
They pulled away, though still allowed Kareem to be close if it gave him some semblance of comfort that they were alright. Kel ran a hand over their face and huffed out a humorless chuckle. âYou sound like me, like, ten years ago.âÂ
Their hand dropped into their lap as they straightened up, looking up at the mural for the first time since they had sat down. âFuck, I feel old.â

Byron: (Sends address)
Byron: Of course you can!
Byron: I'd offer you a room if I lived in my own place.
Kel: no it's fine, really. a shower and some clean clothes is enough.
Kel: i'll be there soon.

Maybe youâre not thinking this through. Says the woman whoâs been engaged eight times. Uh, but never married once. Game, set, match â Linetti.
lelofranciscocookâ:
Eduardo took a step back after they slammed the wallet on him. âI donât think any of those. Iâm just giving you a little help. Is that so bad?â He asked them. âThatâs far better than plain stealing, donât you think? At least you canât get in trouble when people are giving you money willingly.â
âPeople donât just hand out money in life,â Kel scoffed. âYou give me your wallet, and then what? Sânot like other people are out to hand me theirs.â
They raised their hands, laying flat in the air, one just above the other. âThereâs people who got money,â Kel slightly shook the higher hand. âWho got jobs, education, a house to live in, a family that gives a shit, friends who they donât gotta worry about if theyâre layinâ dead in a ditch.â
Kel shook the other hand. âAnd then thereâs people like me. People like me are invisible to people like them. Holdinâ your hand out to them for help ainât gonna do shit. Theyâre just gonna walk right into it.â
They dropped their hands back to their side and began to turn away. âSo thank you for this waste of time, dude.â

lelofranciscocookâ:
He signed and took the wallet. He pulled out his and pulled out his cash too which was close to fifty bucks. âTake mine too then.â He offered. âIâm sure kids will think you are cool when you stole two guys in 5 minutes and got away with it.â He said.
Kel snarled up their lip and slammed the manâs wallet back into his chest. âYou think Iâm doinâ this to be cool? You think Iâm doinâ this to impress my friends? Fuck you, man.â
They took a step back, still scowling. âAnd like I said, I donât need your charity. Go donate to a church or somethinâ if youâre feeling that bummed out about it.â

Byron: I would never hurt you đ
Byron: Nope but I have one of my characters worked out, they are based on someone I know.
Kel: if you based a character off me i'm gonna scream
Kel: and i don't know if it'd be a scream from being flattered or a scream from being embarrassed
