Empowered to be more of my androgynous self. I like feeling strong, fast, lean with small breasts and toned legs and stomach. I like clothes that are loose and baggy, especially around the middle. I like shoes that are flat, that I can run or stomp in. My hair might just be my only concession to femininity. I like it long, in braids - I imagine swinging round and decapitating my enemies.

I’ve been doing a lot of running lately, possibly because it feels like many areas of my personal and professional life are standing still or at some kind of impasse. stillness/stagnation = death, so it’s important to keep in motion, (even if the the only moving part in the machine is me).

Be wary of anyone who talks about “the real world.” Your world is real. Your experiences are real. And the phrase “the real world” tends to be bandied about by people who want you to imagine that everyone is as cruel as them, you’re just too sheltered to know it.

No matter how many adult responsibilities you have, it is not impossible to find compassionate people.
