Summary/explanation: the aliens have semi-distinct or fully distinct personalities and sometimes “take over” even while in human form (hate this phrasing but not really sure how else to call it). All of them are still ostensibly “Ben” but Ben Tennyson is also just the human iteration of the larger identity that is Ben 10 the hero. Communication between the aliens may also be involved, or some bullshit likening the inside of the Omnitrix to a headspace, but not really because I overthink the science a ton and it would be a highly fictionalized portrayal of headspace. I mean maybe it would resemble someone’s real experience it’s just definitely not like mine. That’s irrelevant tho

The original or “classic” playlist (Heatblast, Diamondhead, Fourarms, XLR8, Ghostfreak, Stinkfly, Ripjaws, Grey Matter, Wildmutt, and Upgrade) would have the most frequent.. idk, like, interruptions to Ben’s usual personality I guess. At least in the beginning when they’re the only ones relevant at all. I mean I could call it fronting I just want to avoid using specific vernacular so that if you have no clue what I’m talking about you could still get the idea. (But I do mean fronting).

Guys like Ripjaws tho- who have more “status” but are hardly ever used in battle- are more likely to make commentary in the background than to actually take control. Later on, Ben’s favorites or most frequently chosen transformations (Humongousaur, Swampfire, Feedback) become the identity states to take center stage. If you want a simple way to think about it, think about it like this: it’s the aliens controlling Ben instead of Ben controlling the aliens. Except they’re all still the same person. Except when they’re not. But mostly they all still see themselves as Ben, the same way he himself doesn’t feel a distinction between human and alien forms. It’s just a perspective reversal.

ANYWAY!! So what parts of this even count as AU? Well, I wanna write or draw specific scenes with the premise in mind.. like grandpa max or gwen first realizing when he’s a kid, or his parents later or something, or explaining to Rook way later, etc. Fun little thingies like aliens having certain preferences for themselves or getting into minor disagreements with each other. Kevin or Gwen having specific friendships with specific aliens. That kinda thing…. Kicks a rock…

This has been the most basic introduction to the idea possible becuz I wanna go to sleep and don’t feel like writing every single detail BUT; Questions/ concerns / suggestions / requests are all very ENCOURAGED and APPRECIATED ! Since I know I didn’t really say that much content wise despite making this into 4 paragraphs.. expect me to continue posting more comprehensively at a later date
