Be friendly but don’t pretend to be their friend. Give them what they need, not the other way around. You have unique skills and knowledge. Esp. as a millennial with social media knowledge. (come on, you probably AT LEAST know Tumblr and Vine if you’re on here! Those are two of the most illusive sites for even Gen Xers.)

Go out to lunch with people who have the jobs. Talk about their kids. Find subtle, organic ways to talk about your skills. Offer to give them a five minute crash course on Vine/SnapChat/Tumblr/Twitter/Youtube if they mention being baffled by it. Send them info on cool new technology/sites in their field as you find it. Help them out in little ways and they’ll remember you super favorably.
