We are in such a unique situation compared to most couples who are ‘out’ on social media. . . . We are out in our private lives. Our families, friends, people at the grocery store (😂) all know about our relationship. However, Jenny and I met at work. She has been working there for 20+ years, me <5. She’s a manager and everyone (300ish people) all know her. I am not so well known. (I’m an extreme introvert and do my best to slide under the radar ✌️) . . . In the situation that we are in, I am constantly vetting our followers. We are aware that our relationship could be exposed to our coworkers, so we are always cautiously prepared for that. We aren’t ashamed or afraid (it is 100% okay if you are - I have been there and internalized homophobia is REAL), but we’ve always felt our love doesn’t need the criticism of people who aren’t close to us. I know this is hard to avoid and sharing our life on insta is not going to make it possible to avoid forever. Sharing our journey on here is a huge forward motion into vulnerability for us. This photo is from last summer in NYC. We visited the city three times last year and over the last couple months, I have found myself dreaming of walks in Central Park, coffee at @whitneymuseum, taking in the skyline at the pier in DUMBO, and so many other of our favorite things.
