I don’t like pop music

I never cared for Britney’s #1 hit singles, yet I love how she picked herself up when the world was ripping her apart. The way she smiles today is the greatest testament on how one’s able to defeat all odds.

I’ve heard only two Nicki Minaj songs in my entire life, yet I adore her - she’s witty, outspoken, and genuinely cares for people, while not taking shit from anyone.

Katy Perry’s all sugary pop’n’glitz, yet radiates honesty, strength and dedication while having a lot of fun, keeping the hardest balance there is in the business.

Seems like Adele’s pretty much everyone’s cup of tea but mine. Still doesn’t stop me from admiring the fact she puts talent far ahead of gimmick, and flawlessly at that.

Personally, I think most Beyonce’s tracks are not all that. Yet, I’ve never seen her being bored, or boring. She’s a genius businesswoman in amazing control over her private life, and I can not ignore her pretty infectious personality.

I am a Madonna fan, even while not being a fan of pop in general. For me, she is the embodiment of everything I want from myself one day, “fuck you” attitude included. Strong, powerful, talented, all around a masterpiece on her own.

But that doesn’t and shouldn’t stop me from noticing quality in all these ladies, whether I like someone’s art or not. They bring diversity and a set of great messages to the table and as such, they should never be disregarded as human beings and artists.
