Iām so close to finishing my Reiki I course!
Considering starting a YouTube channel
For a while now Iāve been considering starting a YouTube channel for witchy and Kemetic related things. I also have an interest in doing ASMR videos, though Iām not entirely sure how this would fit in!
I recently signed up to Witch Casket and love unboxing everything I get from them, and I know that a lot of my followers would be interested in seeing things like that based on what you post yourselves. It would be fun to unbox these on camera and explain how to use each item that comes with it.
Iām also just about to finish university and will be self-employed, so Iāll likely have some spare time to get videos done.
So the question remains... Should I just go for it?
something old, something new.

Offerings forĀ the Dead
Most people are reblogging an ask I answered long ago about offerings to give to the dead. Itās long overdue, but Iāve finally typed it up into an actual cohesive post.
~ Herbs ~Ā
Lavender, for peace in passing on
Thyme, to give peace to those who have died from violence
Apple, a common Irish symbol for the dead, which I often give to my ancestorsĀ
Pomegranates, myth of Persephone and all that
Rosemary, for remembrance
Myrrh, commonly used in necromancy, also used to give off good vibes
Chervil, often used in rituals for the dead
Mugwort, usually used to aid divination and communication with the dead. I also give it as an offering
Bay, same as mugwort (my mentality is that these herbs will help āsendā the offerings to the dead)
Lemonbalm, for peace and healing
Wormwood, to strengthen the communication with the dead, as well as healing and revenge
Frankincense, a traditional herb (usually incense) to honor the dead
~ Flowers ~Ā
Calendula, for blessings and eternal love
Rose petals (or the flower) for love and healing
Marigolds, perfect for ancestor worship (as well as spirit work salves and tea)
Lilies, for a sense of security and togetherness; ideal for children
Orchids, for balanced emotions and adoration; ideal for former lovers
Daisies, also ideal for former lovers and lost family members
Tulips, to spread happiness
Dandelions, ideal for connecting with certain spirits (especially when drunk as a tea)
~ Liquids ~
Water, a traditional offering for the dead, often left out for passing spirits
Wine or other alcohol
Juice, namely pomegranate or beet
Oils, such as olive oil, pomegranate oil, coconut, almond, vinegar
~ Other ~
Stones or crystals
Coins
Tobacco (I also know some people who use cigarette smoke or ashes)
Grains, traditionally brown bread
Meat
Candles, namely dark colored or earth-toned
Cleaning up graveyards, placing offerings on graves and speaking to them also makes a great offering
Song and music
Anything personal to the person youāre sending the offering to
~ What to do with the Offerings ~
Burn herbs or flowers (safely) with a written message to āsendā the offering to the soul
Leave coins, flowers or herbs on the grave
Pour liquid into the earth, or leave them out in a bowl
Leave offerings out as aĀ āstanding offeringā for the dead who pass through (idea from @arachnospooky)
This is SO overdue Iām so sorry but I hope it helps!!Ā
Why did you choose Death Witchcraft?
Because it felt right for me.
Divinersary!
Today marks the four year anniversary of my Rite of Parent Divination and Shemsu naming with the House of Netjer. Four years of being blessed to have such a wonderful spiritual line-up and of being included in such a loving community.
Bast has taught me to always be kind to myself.
Wepwawet has blessed me with such amazing opportunities.
Sekhmet has taught me courage
Heru-sa-Aset has taught me loyalty.
Four years of struggling to find time for Senut, worrying that the Nether think Iāve abandoned them, and having to carefully package my shrine up each time I move apartment! Sometimes, I admit, the realities of spiritual practice are difficult for me.
Becoming a Shemsu and receiving my name was an experience Iāll never forget. Hereās to four more years!
Dua Netjer!
Magical Uses for Graveyard Dirt
I see a lot of posts on how to properly collect graveyard dirt, but havenāt seen any on what you use it for. Here are some options:
In general:
Communication/summonings of spirits of the dead
Conjuring death energy
Protection from spirit attacks
Necromancy
Banishing someone or something
Dispelling certain emotions
Letting go or breaking habits spells
From specific graves:
Communicating with the spirit who resides there/spirits relating to them
Love and home happiness spells, if gathered from the grave of a loved one
Curses, if gathered from the grave of a wicked person
Bravery, strength, or demanding that someone obey you, if gathered from the grave of a soldier
Knowledge, if gathered from the grave of the elderly or one who values gaining knowledge
Healing, if gathered from the gave of an ancestor or healer
Luck or money, if gathered from the grave of a gambler or economist
Spiritual guidance and protection, if gathered from the grave of a spiritual leader
Innocence, playfulness, and developing new friendships, if gathered from the grave of a child. (Be wary of these; many died unexpectedly and early, so they may be more bewildered than anything.
Fertility and glamours, if gathered from the grave of an infant
Strength and protection from harm, if gathered from a grave of one who was abused
Ancestor connection and veneration, if gathered from the grave of a family member
Loyalty and devotion, if gathered from the grave of a pet
From the crossroads of a graveyard or cemetery:
Connection with spirits and deities
Astral projection aid
Necromancy
Protection during spirit work
Past lives work
How do you know the character of someone who was buried there? You have to communicate with the spirit who inhabits that grave if you want to properly collect graveyard dirt. Click here to learn how to properly collect graveyard dirt.Ā As always, feel free to add on, and have a beautiful day!!! °+(*Ā“āļ½)ļ½Ā°+°
Some Uncommon Tools in Death Witchcraft
I feel like some materials that are commonly used in other paths are often overlooked by death witches. For example:
Bloodstone is not often mentioned, but has incredible potential for death work. It represents blood flow in the human body, and therefore can be used in spells in the same vein as actual blood is used. I mainly use it to connect to ancestors, but you may also use it for grounding, protection, and energy work.
Cascarillla (ground eggshells) have potential in the craft; they represent death of a conceived chick, and the protection of new life. It can be used in place of salt if youāre scattering it around plants, as it wonāt harm the surrounding nature. You can even make a black salt out of it by grinding it with ash or charcoal, or dying the egg before the grinding it.
Banana bread can technically be a good offering, since it uses brown bananas oftentimes. Bread is also a common offering for the dead.
Many witches recommend harvesting plants when theyāre still alive. For death witchcraft, there may be more power in harvesting dead plants. For example, fallen eucalyptus leaves would make a fine addition to any protection powder against malevolent spirits, due to its association with both protection and death.
Sea shells and snail shells are traditionally common in bone throwing for representing the bones of the sea and the bones of the earth, respectively. If you donāt have actual bones on you, these would make a nice substitute.
Although blood is often recommended for linking yourself to a spell, you may also use nail clippings, hair, saliva, or even tears.
Paper clips are an accessible, cheap source of steel, which is mainly iron. A great ingredient in protection spells.
Dawn is a great time to work with beginnings and afterlife, while dusk has potential for spells about endings.
Dirt from crossroads or the gate of a cemetery helps one connect to spirits, and cross over into the afterlife.
Donāt want to use bones? Use nail clippings, talons, teeth, or even snakeskin or furs.
