Chapter 11

This chapter was about brain storming, creating ideas and then turning those ideas into photos. I liked the idea writing down your ideas to keep track of possible ideas for future photos.

Hirsch CH6

I did not really like this chapter but there were a couple of useful things I took away from this chapter though. Overall this chapter just reminds me of art class critiques. This chapter just tells you how to look and think when reviewing images.

Editing Images

This chapter was good overview on how to edit images. I thought it was interesting on how you are able to remove blemishes and restore faded out images.

Scanning

Prior to this class I have not scanned a photo so I found this chapter very helpful. This chapter went over the setting of the scanner and how to produce the optimize your image quality.

LIGHTING

Photography is about capturing light on a sensor or film so lighting will play a crucial part in the creation of any image. There a a lot of factors that go into setting up good lighting. Neutral or soft light I think makes the best portrait. This chapter also had a good overview of flashes.

EXPOSURE

This chapter was a good overview of what must be taken into account to create the perfectly exposed image. I liked how the talked about fill flash and back lighting.

Shutter Speed

This chapter discussed the effects of shutter speed on your photo. The longer the exposure the more light is exposed to the sensor. I like to take allot of my photographs at night using long exposure.
