This is a bit of a whumpy piece in the Even To the Edge series, spending time in the past with Zelda Rainbringer after the flood and looking backward at events leading to it. Be forewarned that the story centers both the Fall of Hyrule itself and her own personal Trials in the flight, difficult pregnancy, traumatic labor, and injuries from that. Things do get better for her, the twins live and thrive, and there is hope for the future (obviously!
