“Not if you’re talking science and math, there isn’t,” Kennedy hummed. Numbers and facts is where she thrived. Since she was a young girl she’d always been somewhat of a nerd in that sense, always getting teased about knowing the answers to questions in class, but she couldn’t help that she enjoyed it. “I would never do that to someone. Like, this is clearly interesting to you, right? It would be rude of me not to at least try.”

Kennedy smiled, shaking her head at the man as he asked if she was originally from New York. “No, no. I was born in a town called Nuremberg in Germany. I lived there until I was eight, and then my family and I moved here. Which was sort of a shock to the system because where I’m from has like, cottage-looking town houses, and you know. You’ve seen New York,” Kennedy laughed lightly, tucking a few strands of her long, blonde hair behind her ear. “But I love it here, I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Pausing for a moment, she bit at her lip. “So what I’m getting from that conversation is, you want to go and dance? I have to warn you though, while I’m not very good I do put a hundred percent effort into everything I do, including looking awkward.”

nimble digits messed with the CHAIN that hung from her neck, the sparkles of the charm reflecting on the ceiling as the light hits it. ❛ a dance show. you’ll find they’re INTRIGUING. ❜ she doesn’t bother mentioning that it helps in her other job.

Kennedy was definitely interested when the woman mentioned dancing. As professional as she tried to hold herself at work, she was unfortunately one of the clumsiest people there. This quality of hers had always stopped her from having any real ability to dance, not that it stopped her. “That sounds really fun, actually. What kind of dancing is it?”

I like facts, numbers, things that are definite and final,” Kennedy shrugged, her content expression still spread across her features. “No need to apologize, I mean I’m pretty much sucking at this conversation, but it’s still interesting.”

Kennedy couldn’t remove the smile from her face if she tried as she listened to the man talk. He was charming. Not in the way that would make her think he was trying to come on to her, but there was something about him that she enjoyed. Leaning her elbow on the bar, her chin rested upon her hand as she took in what he was saying. “So I take it you’re not a native New Yorker, then?” She questioned him, licking along her lower lip. “I dance when I’m drunk, sober, when there’s a really good song playing and I just can’t help myself,” she smiled. “I have nothing against making a fool of myself, as long as I’m having fun.”

❛ ALRIGHT — my answer would be that’s it’s both. other people because i touched on the fact that they hold narcissistic values, & me because i noted that i wasn’t talking about MYSELF, meaning that i was thinking about myself & the effect that other people’s self-indulgence would have on me. it’s debatable, really. it all depends on your views & your morals. but primarily, it’s all about SELF. ❜

Kennedy couldn’t help laughing lightly, knowing that okay, she probably looks like every other person sitting at the bar alone looking to forget the day they’d just had. But, she always tries and sees the positive in things, so even a bad day can turn into a good one if you make it happen. “Trying is the first step to succeeding,” she spoke with a bright expression, as cheesy as it sounded. “So are you the kind of man who likes to dance when he’s had a few drinks, or are you a social butterfly who’s happy to sit at the bar and talk to strangers?”

“Who says I’m not having fun?” Kennedy questioned with a smile, bringing her own glass to her lips. It was just coke and a lemon wedge, but it would do just fine for now. “I can tell you’re not, well not yet anyway. I mean, if those sorrows you mentioned are anything to go by.”

Kennedy furrowed her brow a little, confused by the woman’s attitude. It was like she enjoyed being mean, although the blonde liked to give people the benefit of the doubt. “The show? What sort of show?” She questioned curiously, diverting the conversation a little.
