kinda fucked up how society teaches that âitâs not fairâ is a whiny and childish emotional response to have. what a good way to gloss over the fact that things need to change until they are fair & that distress is a valid emotional response to injustice
âBut thatâs not fair!â Holy shit, youâre right, kiddo. Letâs do something about it
u ever have on mutuals whos so deep in another fandom that u know absolutely zero about and they make posts that look like they speaking another language or some shit
i really appreciate the number of mutuals who are not in any of my fandoms sharing this post. its like a little hello nod as we pass each other in the hall
HI LETâS SHARE NICOLEâS WORDS ON THE SUBJECT!Â
It has been literal years but every time I see Martinâs tweets posted somewhere and his word is shared as truth while her post is not shared it sort of reiterates the fact that we trust men to speak about feminism more than we believe women who experience it.Â
Interesting, innit? https://medium.com/@nickyknacks/working-while-female-59a5de3ad266
Reading her account of how their boss treated her blows me away. Men are so emboldened that they will literally admit to illegal discrimination casually and face no consequences.
In all the years of seeing this post Iâve never seen a link to her side. Didnât even know sheâd written one.
Adding screenshots of her post. His whole post is there without needing a link. Hers should be, too.
Also, she posted this is 2017! Itâs fucking 2020 and Iâve seen his side of this for years, but it took 3 years for her side to make its way to my dashâŠ

Actual faith vs performative religion.
To shave your beard is a huge sacrifice for a devout Sikh. It is a sacrifice for the greater good, that many people will scoff at without understanding the amount of love it took, to give up part of your faith to serve the greater purpose of that faith. Bless them all.
You know what I find incredibly sweet? the fact that Jumin, a man whose father doesnât value enough, who hasnât spoken to his mother in years, who has had so many stepmothers who would all try to use both his father and him for their own gains (and potentially groom him) that it scared him, and who is incredibly lonely; and Zen, a man who had to endure his family berating him for years to the point of destroying his self-esteem and self-worth and turning their back on him until he had to run away at a very young age and rebuild himself entirely on his own; these two are the characters who value family the MOST of the RFA.
Them, who have had more bad experiences with family than good, who donât actually know firsthand what a stable, loving family is, theyâre the ones telling Yoosung to step up and value his motherâs efforts, to see that she truly loves him and wants whatâs best for him. Theyâre the ones encouraging Seven to rekindle with his brother, telling him not to lose hope, that family is important and that he can be brought back and accepted into the RFA. Jumin is the one telling V to make the effort to get to know his mother better. Zen is the one feeling Jaeheeâs pain about the loss of her parents. They want the members, particularly Yoosung and Saeyoung, to cherish what they have, because THEY have never had it. Itâs both sweet and very, VERY sad. Â
truth be spoken

14th century doctors be like âi donât know whatâs wrong with you but youâre a woman so i diagnose you with witchcraftâ
19th century doctors be like âi donât know whatâs wrong with you but youâre a woman so i diagnose you with hysteriaâ
21st century doctors be like âi donât know whatâs wrong with you but youâre a woman so i donât believe anything is wrong with you and wonât diagnose youâ
How Things are Made đš
Ignoring the second tweet for a second, but thatâs literally how insurance works.
âCompany gets insurance and then claims that insurance when applicableâ is not a story.
Normally I would agree with you, but in the context of âduring a disaster that almost nobody had anticipated was even possible, one company HAD gotten insurance for this shitâ is news, because unusual things are news, and being prepared for the corona virus at all is very unusual.
You know right that pandemics existed before Corona virus and that this insurance was for pandemics and not just corona and therefore actually kinda sorta really makes sense
I looked it up and apparently, Wimbledonâs Risk and Finance Committee demanded that pandemic insurance be purchased after the SARS outbreak in 2002. They recognized that a pandemic was a threat to their event after SARS and made a plan.
Apparently some furry conventions have also had pandemic insurance, so we can all live with the knowledge that furry conventions and a tennis tournament were better prepared for a pandemic than any other businesses and most governments.
@rippledragon linked this to me and a good time is being had.

I run dnd for a bunch of teenagers at the public library twice a month, and I created a character for them to like, and my teens are so obsessed with this rat that speaks common that they paid for him to go to college, and about once a week one of them comes in to the library to show me a cute picture of a rat that reminded them of him.
God this story is so blessed thank you
man you know what is just as bad as men-hate-their-wives-lol jokes? parents-hate-their-kids-lol jokes. i cannot STAND how many memes and posts i'm seeing from parents who are upset that they have to spend quarantine time with their kids & homeschool them for a month or two... like why did you have kids if you'd rather lock them in a basement than teach them...
