Finally talked to my doc about the increase in my adhd symptoms. I'm trying Adderall. Please everyone hold my hand bc the echo of intergenerational addiction problems still pings off the walls of my brain like the DVD video logo even though I'm 40 and have never had an issue with a single substance (besides caffeine, maybe)

Lesser-known steps of the writing process:

Finding all the paragraphs where you used some hyper-specific word more than once

Rearranging paragraphs that you swear you wrote in the right order but turned out to be totally backwards

Going for a walk, coming up with the perfect line, and forgetting it as soon as you get home and open your laptop

Creating a separate document where you can dump all of those nice sentences that no longer fit in anywhere

Waking up in a cold sweat because so-and-so was supposed to be barefoot but never actually took his shoes off

I haven't checked what QLL has, but Make Room for Love is a great contemporary romance with a trans woman protagonist and an f/f pairing! One of the big themes of the book is labor organizing and solidarity between unionized and hoping-to-become-unionized workers from different professions, since the love interest is a union electrician and the protagonist is a grad student trying to start a grad students union at her university. Highly recommend!
