Hey there!
So Kitty was an available character but I recently archived her skeleton bio since we, as a group, are starting to consider making some changes in the cast. If you’re serious about wanting to apply for Kitty come chat with me off anon and we can talk about it!
I’ve decided to combine a list of monthly ideas of what goes on in New York to get those creative juices flowing. Not everyone has the perks of living in the Big Apple, so I figured I would help you all out with the research aspect of it all. Below you’ll see a list of birthdays and events that are happening in New York for the month of February.
Note: That these are only ideas of what you could write about for your character. It is not mandatory that you have to write about any of these (excluding the promotional events which I will go into further detail about in a separate post once we are closer to the date.) Or you can use it simply as a guide to know what is going on in and around the city!

March 7th - Pastrytown: Forget everything you think you know about beer: This festival of dessert-flavored hops will have you sipping unlimited pastry stouts, barrel-aged barley wines, mead and fruited Berliners. If that’s not enough sweetness for you, there will be paired desserts and, strangely enough, live wrestling matches.
March 4th - 8th - Science Fiction Film Festival: The Philip K. Dick Film Festival is back with exciting, provoking and just plain weird movies, such as the psychedelic Imperial Blue (2019), which tells the tale of a drug that lets you see the future; Eli (2019), in which a teen musician believes he has an alien implant in his ear; and Love Bite, a Blade Runner producer’s take on the zombie apocalypse.
March 7th- Women’s History Month First Saturday: Celebrate women with the Brooklyn Museum, which will be hosting a night market, live music, artist talks, curator tours, hands-on art, poetry readings and other performances, all evening. While the market–featuring local women and nonbinary artists and makers–will go all night, the museum has bookended the event with an artist talk with Naima Green over a game of cards at 6pm and music by rapper Sammus at 9pm.
March 17th - St. Patricks Day Parade & Fest - Bust out your finest green T-shirts: St. Patrick’s Day 2019 is officially upon us! One of the biggest events is the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which marches along Fifth Avenue and passes by venerable New York attractions, including St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Central Park.
March 21st - Festival of Colors: Welcome to the happiest day party in New York City! The Festival of Colors celebrates the coming of spring, the joy of friendship, and equality for all. This Indian Festival happens ever year, not only in India but throughout the world. Join us on Saturday March 21st to throw brightly colored organic cornstarch, dance to music, and buy food and drink at Holi in the City at Stage 48. Make sure to wear white because this party gets colorful. Take the opportunity to cover yourself and your friends in colorful powders and dance your heart out. Enjoy musical performances, delicious food, and an afternoon of messy, color fun!
March 29th - Ali Wong at the Beacon Theatre: Perhaps you know Ali Wong's wildly raunchy humor from her Netflix stand-up specials, Hard Knock Wife and Baby Cobra. Now the comedian is bringing her uproarious insights to New York City at the Beacon Theatre!

We’re a small but very close knit and active group looking to add some more faces to the dash. We currently have bios and pre-made connections up for Tina Cohen-Chang, Finn Hudson, and Kitty Wilde that I would love to see some auditions for! If none of those characters are in your wheelhouse, then I’ll also accept auditions for other characters in place of the ones that are currently open.

I would definitely consider Bree/Rachel as a replacement for Kitty/Tina. I think either could fit in really well with the bio/connections and the current dynamic of the group.
would you be willing to accept jesse in place of finn?
That would certainly be an interesting switch! I do think some changes would need to be done to the bio and the character connections so they could better fit Jesse (right now they’re probably a closer fit to a Finn/Puck/Brody type) but I’m definitely open to discussing it further off anon if you’d like.

You know…it’s actually pretty tough to pick out which ONE character is the most wanted. It would be nice to have some more ladies up in the group (so Tina, Kitty or another female substitution) but it would also be really great for Sam to have his roommate and fellow party thrower Finn!
Tough choice, anon. I know it’s sort of a non answer but all three are pretty equally wanted round these parts.

You mean like an in verse gossip blog for the roleplay? Nope, we don’t have anything like that. I wasn’t really planning on making one unless my fellow roleplayers would like to see it…?

Currently we have Tina, Finn, and Kitty open! But I’m also very willing to let people request to have characters switched out. For example, wanting to play Puck instead of Finn.

February 15th til April 19th - NYC Botanical Gardens Orchid Show: This display will transform the garden's conservatory into a tunnel of hypnotic floral designs reminiscent of a look through a kaleidoscope. There will be special Orchid Evenings during which visitors can enjoy the attraction after dark and see the Supertrees, including a gorgeous display of lights, among the orchids. There will be alcoholic beverages and snacks for purchase, as well as live entertainment.
February 19th - Amateur Night at the Apollo Season Opener: The world-famous Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater returns in February for a new season of performances from singers, dancers, comedians and spoken-word artists. Many artists get their big break after taking the stage at Amateur Night (which takes place every Wednesday), as long as they’re not booed off stage by the audience. Participants also vie for a spot in the “Top Dog” competition hosted at the Apollo at the end of each season.
February 21st to March 15th - International Children's Film Festival: Helping to redefine the idea of "kids' movies" since 1997, the New York International Children's Film Festival shines a light on some of the most unique, engaging and thought-provoking independent films (as well as previews of some big-budget Hollywood flicks) for young people. From obscure animated shorts to full-length, live-action dramas, the festival has offerings in nearly every genre, and for kids of all ages and backgrounds.
February 22nd - NYC Opening Beer Bash: The opening bash is a unique opportunity to spend time with the people who make the beer in your glass. Meet and speak with the brewers! This is an unlimited sampling festival. Music provided by DJ Rob Swift with special guest appearance by Chris Maestro of BierWax. Some incredible food partners as well including the NYC debut of Lager Dog! As well as Empanada Papa, Groundlings Pizza Co, and Stuf'd.
February 27th to March 1st - Athena Film Festival: The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College in New York City, is a weekend of inspiring films that tell the extraordinary stories of fierce and fearless women leaders. Over the last ten years, the festival has welcomed more than 35,000 people from all over the world to 200+ screenings of narratives, documentaries, and shorts that feature diverse stories of ambition, courage, and resilience.
February 27th - The NYC Pancakes and Booze Art Show: NYC's Pop-Up Underground Art Show is back at M1-5 in Manhattan. One of the largest pop-up art movements to hit North America over the past decade. Celebrate the 10th year serving FREE PANCAKES and introducing you to some of the nation's leading emerging artists. Over 100+ Local artists and vendors with over 500 works on exhibit. Live Audio Performances from local DJs and Music Producers, live Body Painting & Art. 21+

might be as i'm on mobile that i can't find it but i saw y'all were a reboot and y'all had me thinking what this was rebooted from? im trying to see if i know any players
This reboot has the same name as its original, Kensington Apartments, for which I was an admin for as well!
There’s only two of us who came from the original roleplay - the rest of our players are all brand spanking new.

We are absolutely accepting apps right now. We currently have Tina, Kitty, and Finn open though I’m also open to having people switch characters out for different ones if they want.
I’m the sole admin (Ashley) and I play the lovely Quinn Fabray.
will you be adding more characters?
I’m currently still extremely flexible with our current cast of characters. I’m very open to adding characters based on interest. By that, I mean that I’m not going to write out whole new characters unless someone lets me know they have an interest in playing them.
With that said, I would prefer to just simply switch characters out with current open ones rather than adding whole new bodies altogether (at least for right now). Roleplayers are welcome to suggest any changes to current bios in order to better fit the character they’re applying for.
But if you’d like to come talk to me about adding in a completely new character altogether, then I’m certainly open to having that kind of conversation as well.

How active is this rp?
Since opening just a couple of days ago, I’d say we’re pretty dang active! So far all of our players have been popping in on the daily. We’re all also very communicative in the ooc discord about when and when we’re not going to be able to hop on.
would you accept any of puck, brody or ryder in place of finn?

I think that any of the three would be a good substitution for Finn. For the overall group I think I’d lean more towards Brody or Puck as a best fit but ultimately it’s up to you who you’d like to send an app for.
Now that all of our accepted applicants have gotten their accounts in - we have begun interactions on the dash! Feel free to jump in character all residents of Kensington.
In the meantime, we still have a few characters open for audition! Kitty Wilde, Finn Hudson, and Tina Cohen Chang are hot needs for us so come on over and check us out. And if none of those characters are quite to your liking - feel free to suggest a character switch-a-roo. I’m happy to reconsider characters based on interest!
