â
send in a symbol and Iâll write a drabble of one of my museâs memories â OPEN
â â a memory that may or may not have happened
his memory was sharp. he kept telling himself that.Â
your memory is sharp, kent. you know this.Â
still, memories of her kept eluding him, escaping his mind as if it were a prison that they were longing to be freed from, and he hated himself for it. he was desperately trying to remember the sound of her voiceâat first, he would go to other universes, travel back in time, find out where she was and just listen from a distance, just so that he could hear her voice one more time.Â
as of late, kent had stopped doing that. as a result, he had forgotten what her voice sounded like. he needed to remind himself. he needed to remember. he wouldnât forgive himself if he couldnât.Â
then, like a whisper in the breeze, he heard it.Â
   kentâ
a breathy moan. he wondered if he he had ever made her say his name like that or if he was just pretending that things had been better than they were.Â
   i love you, kent.Â
     i love you, too.Â
he closed his eyes. maybe it hadnât happened at all, but it was sure a hell of a lot nicer to pretend that it was real than face the fact that it wasnât.
