Went snorkeling for the first time today. It was amazing to do it in a protected reef sanctuary, its like the fish don't even care you're there! I was swimming right along with schools of fish watching them feed on the reef. I got choked with with so much water in my nose that I had to take a break. I popped my ears and water started pouring out my nose. I definitely won't have any boogers for a few days so I'm totally winning. #Hawaii #hanaumabay #JustKeepSwimming (at Hanauma Bay)
Surfed pipeline on Saturday. Just even getting out into the ocean was tough. It spit me back out on the sand twice. Then I finally got out and paddled my ass off past the break so I too could take a break. As I'm sitting, a turtle swims right by me, only a few feet away. It was a little guy but the first I'd ever seen. Finally I go to catch my first wave and its 6ft tall. I got spooked and let it pass right under me. My next try I catch it, drop down and slip off face planting right into the water. The wave swallowed me up, tossed me around and held me under. I felt a lite tug on my ankle from my board and that's it. I finally come up to the surface and my board was gone, the leash snapped! Thankfully a body boarder caught it and swam it over to me. My first wave and my leash breaks. Mother nature is not something that can be controlled. I felt that chilling thought went I was floating out there. Surfing allows me to enjoy the power of mother nature and work with it. These were the biggest waves I've tried to ride so far but for Pipeline it was a small day... The Waimea Canyon in Kauai was great after a long day of hiking. You can drive thru some nice twisty turns to look out points along the road. The red dirt is unlike anything I've felt between my toes. #reddirt #kauai (at Waimea Canyon State Park)

The Kalalau Trail has been by far the wettest hike I've done. Mud on the entire way to the waterfall, 4 miles of it. It will test your footing skills for sure. The views are breathtaking #kalalautrail #Kauai (at Kalalau Trail)

Its been one hell of a week. I have to get used to working the night shift but the first week is always the toughest. All the unexpected problems surface and you finally see what you have to work with. Just have to keep rolling with the punches. On a better note, I got a kick ass 2 for 1 deal on some surfboards today. Going to test these babies out tomorrow in the magical Hawaiian waves. Aloha, hang ten, cowabunga and all that jazz. Finishing up a complete brake system overhaul. Upgraded to 5 lug & Z32 calipers on all 4 corners. One of the most in depth upgrades I've done so far. The sucky part is the brake booster crapped out. I play the flight seat roulette game twice a week. It's where you sit in a row all by yourself and see who happens to sit next to you. Whoever it is, is stuck next to you for the next few hours and you better hope they make it interesting. What they don't know is that I have a stupid amount of drink coupons.
