Kenzi rolled her eyes as he handed her the joint, running it under her nose she grinned widely. “Definitely not cheap,” she said pulling a lighter out of her pocket. “If this smells that strong on it’s own, we’re definitely not gonna be leaving this place any time soon.” Pressing the joint to her lips, she flicked the lighter on, enhaling deeply the moment the fire hit the tip. Lowering the hand with the lighter, she took her time exhaling.

Blinking a few times she smiled goofily handing the joint to Stiles. “I need to know your dealer immediately. I haven’t had shit this good since before I moved back here.” She said, trying to figure out how quick she could get it and how much she’d need to get from the bank.

"That was the intention, my friend," he grinned. He picked a spot on the ground, not caring that it was pretty much just a patch of dirt, and sat, waiting patiently for Kenzi to pass the joint to him. He chuckled as she exhaled, her grin seriously loopy. "Told you it was good shit. And nope. I’m keeping this guy to myself. He’s seriously like the best. And I want bragging rights to him for just a little while," he laughed, motioning for her to give him the joint. He knew he’d end up telling her who his supplier was. He didn’t mind sharing suppliers with Kenzi, but it was just like he said. He wanted bragging rights. Even if it was only for a bit.

Taking a hit of the joint, he closed his eyes as he inhaled deeply, smoke filling his lungs and burning only slightly. Slowly letting the smoke flow from between his lips, he opened his eyes and grinned just as goofily at Kenzi. “Jesus this shit is the best.” He mumbled. “But you know what would make it better? Music. Sublime music.” He laughed at his own joke, uncaring of whether it was funny or not.

Kenzi watched as the girls filled their places and went to the front door to check the line. Whistling she, smiled when she saw that they had a big crowd today. Nodding to the bouncer, she turned around and headed back to the bar as the crowd begin to fill in. Taking her spot beside Celeste she began serving drinks. After a few hours of serving non stop, she tapped one of the girls on the shoulder letting them know she’d be taking a break. Turning to Celeste she waved her hand, “You up for a short break?”

It had been a while since Celest had seen the bar packed like it was tonight, but she tried not to crack under pressure, serving any and every of the customers she had, making the drinks quickly and efficiently. After she stopped having a queue of customers, Celeste let out a huff of exhaustion, hearing Kenzi ask her if she wanted to take a break. Nodding at the offer, she stepped from around the bar and followed Kenzi, getting a few minutes to relax until she had to work again.

Kenzi was jogging through the woods, when she smelled blood in the air. Skidding to a stop, she tilted her had, listening for anything out the ordinary. She could hear the faint beats of a heart somewhere off to her left. Glancing in the direction, she took a few steps towards whatever was out there. Scenting the blood again, she made the decision to check it out.

.Allowing the talons to form on her hands, she cautiously made her way towards the heart of the aroma. Blinking when she saw the dead bodies, but what interested her more was the man they surrounded. Taking a step forward, she called out to him. “Usually when I see a dead body I call the police, but since those obviously aren’t human. I’m kind of curious…”

.Studying the man further, she took another step forward. Fingers returning to normal, showing that she meant no harm. Nodding at the the bodies at his feet she raised an eyebrow, “What did they ever do to you?”

He heaved long breath as if doing so would relieve him of the tension that killing the harpies had strung up in him. It didn’t. He greedily took a couple more before he listen to twitch and rustle of the woods. Then an unnatural scent and the thunder of a heartbeat, made Derek lucid again. There was little to nothing to cover up the bodies or the blood that coated his hands, so he settle for straightening up. The scent wasn’t human or wolf, it was something within itself that was new to him, a base tone. A base tone of magic and blood. That wasn’t comforting in the slightest.

Neither was seeing a lithe body of a girl, talons out and a sense of unease made Derek’s skin crawl. He had learned not to doubt women in their abilities to fuck you up. A vivid memory of snakes disguised behind pretty faces cropped up somewhere in the back of his head while the girl spoke. “Harpies.” He shrugged helplessly, the faster he untangled himself from the situation the better.

A calculating look past over her face, the same one Peter wore, and the talons merged back into blunt nails. He let out a breath that he wasn’t aware he was holding. She held her palms toward him in a nonthreatening manner. The wolf that resided in him crooned a little bit at the lost of the fight. “Attack me.” He moved a hand to wipe away trickles of blood that had fallen from the corner of his mouth.

"How adorable are they," she cooed causing Stiles to laugh.

"If only they were like that with us." She said, then grimaced. "On second thought, nevermind. I don’t want the corny, I’m not down with corny. I don’t want to be one of the couples. Laura don’t make us one of those couples."

One of those corny couples that do all of that sweet, adorable stuff like I do with Derek, and…" She couldn’t keep up the facade for more than a couple minutes, because it was then that she burst out laughing and shook her head. "No, we won’t be one of those couples."

She wasn’t much of a stripper, but ever since that Halloween a year ago —when Stiles convinced her to dance for amatuer night— she would ocassionally join him on the floor. They made a good team, and the tips always tripled.

Stiles snorted as he got dressed in the rest of his outfit. Hearing about hot guys, Stiles hummed and shrugged. “Talk to Joey, my darling. He’ll tell you if you can come in tonight. I don’t doubt it though. We haven’t done our number for Britney Spears in awhile. Could bring it back after the show maybe.”

Stiles loved he could share this with someone. Most people heard someone with the occupation of a “stripper” and automatically joined it with cheap, horrible make up with a really shitty name like Glitter. Hell no. Stiles was The Fox. And he was a fox. He was sly and gorgeous all the same. “I have to go on, but I will be seeing you later.” He kissed her cheek before going and doing his number. "Actually," she said turning toward the Sheriff. "I wanted to talk to you about that. I was thinking of adopting them all and I could use so help when I’m working. And Stiles really likes them, so I was wondering if you’d mind it if he helped me take care of them. I’d give him a spare to my house. He’s welcome anytime to see them if he wants."

She stood there hoping she didn’t look hopeful. She’d been trying to find a reason to spend time with Stiles and this seemed like the perfect one. With her somewhat busy work schedule, Stiles would be over her house often. And since he was attached to the puppies, him being there while she was home wouldn’t seem suspicious. Glancing at Stiles, he could see that he was somewhat surprised by her confession. She’d planned on telling him earlier but the Sheriff had walked in before she could.

Stiles was no where near prepared for this when Kenzi had said she wanted Stiles to help. But he quickly jumped up on that train as he scrambled to his feet and held a puppy close to his chest. “See! Then, if I stay responsible, and if it’s okay with Kenzi, could I bring one home?” One, it would give him an excuse to go to Kenzi’s. Two, he’d be able to see the puppies when he wanted. And three, he might be able to keep one. These were all good things for him.

The sheriff sighed heavily and pinched the bridge of his nose in thought. “Fine! Fine. You can help Deputy Kenzi here with the puppies, but I will not let you have one until I get a full report from her that you are actually doing something. Not sitting on your ass and over staying your welcome.” The stern tone told Stiles there was no getting out of it but he was already bouncing in excitement. “Thanks dad! I swear, I want this a lot more than you think.” Yeah, he gets to have some alone time with Kenzi. Score.

As the back of her knees hit the mattress, she pulled back from the turning them around and pushing Stiles down onto the bed. Crawling up the bed, she straddled him. Leaning down bite at his neck.

Kenzi sighed at Isaac little speech, glad when he finally let her take over. Crossing the room, she found her self face to face with Laura. “How do you tell someone you care for about the guy they slept with a long time ago? As for them, well they’re always in the center of everything. I tend to stay on the outskirts. If I’d told you I was friends with the Sheriff’s son who always shows up at the scene of a crime, especially supernatural, would you not have suspected something. Would you not have wanted to meet him and everyone else?” She tried to explain.

"Hell, are you even ready for them to know you’re alive? Because it seems to me you’ve been here all this time and you haven’t shown yourself. It would have blown your cover. Some things just…" She paused turning to Isaac. "Leave, I’ll see you in class Monday." She said waiting for him to leave. The next part of this conversation had to be in private.

After listening to make sure he was far enough away, she glanced back at Laura. “There’s also the fact that i didn’t want you to know that I was in high school. I mean, I am legal. I didn’t lie to you about that, I’m just not in college like you thought.”

"My parents were murdered, and yet they still managed to teach me respect before they left. Obviously, yours didn’t extend the same courtesy." Laura shrugged with a roll of her eyes, feeling slight sympathy for the other wolf, but too stubborn to show it. " Many turn against their packs. And many die from it. And whether or not I’m part of your young pack, you fuck with my brother, I’ll come after you. Is that clear enough?" She advanced toward him calmly. "As for my sister… I did catch her scent. It has been years since I smelled her, and last time I did she was a little girl. So I suppose I just hoped that I was wrong… but here’s a little tip for you. I was my sister’s role model for most of her life. She was like my daughter for most of mine. And unless you’d like me to share with her everything you’ve said about myself and Derek… you’ll watch what you say from here on out."

It wasn’t until Kenzi was right in front of her once more that she stopped and calmed, if only a slight bit more. “Kenz, I babysat him. And I knew the Sheriff…. but I wouldn’t have suspected a thing.” She admitted with a small sigh. “Because I trusted you to make your own decisions and have those parts of your life that I knew you wouldn’t want to tell me… even if you had no problems sharing them with others.” She glanced at the ground, now refusing to meet her mate’s eyes.

"I wanted to tell them. Wanted us to be a family again, but I figured out about a true alpha around these parts. Had to make sure it was safe for them and me for me to come back." She shrugged, though now she felt foolish for not coming back sooner. It would have been easier if she had.

She sent a smug grin at Isaac as he left before turning back to Kenzi, knowing whatever she was about to say would be something she hadn’t wanted to in front of the other wolf… and that fact made her nervous. Enough so, that even when the other broke the news to her, she let out a relieved sigh. “You’re in high school?” She questioned with a small smile, though the confirmation had already been spoken aloud. “That’s… it’s fine.”
