Limited edition Blade Runner inspired prints for g1988ās currentĀ āBoth Sidesā AVAILABLE NOW.
Seeing Blade Runner as a teen is one of those formative experiences that changes the way you look at the world forever. Thatās how it was for me anyway. Itās a movie Iāve long wanted to pay tribute to, so for Gallery1988ā²s show celebrating iconic heroes and villains, I thought it was about time I did. Trying to capture the aesthetic of the film in all its neon-lit beauty, albeit with some pretty tightly-cropped portraits, was a joyous experience. Naturally Vangelis provided the soundtrack while I worked. To be honest this has just whet my appetite to try doing some more pieces inspired by the science fiction classic, so watch this space, as they say.
so good!
Life Drawing Liverpool-Ā Sunday 19th July
Bit of a mish mash session this week. Held at the Wells Space on Roscoe Street; which was a really great building/space - Very boho/creative in character. The first model I felt lacked experience, and possibly a desire to be there. A little unfortunate for us whoād travelled to the venue. So couldnāt get into any groove for some time. Then, very kindly another girl stepped in and took the reigns, and gave us a really stunning pose for 45 minutes, closing the session. Managed to catch the majority of the forms; couldnāt quite get her left foot. Gave it a few attempts but decided to move onwards. Great angles, profile and tough foreshortening. The last pose definitely redeemed the earlier portion of the session.
