So here’s the deal on this sideblog.

There will be no fancy graphics. I don’t promise consistency in posting. What it will offer is curation - I’ll only be posting fics I genuinely recommend, with some comments detailing what I like about them. I’ll be using minimal tags (like I did with sterekommendations) so you’ll be able to filter by a fic’s most salient characteristics.

If you trust my taste, like WangXian fics and want ideas about what to read/re-read, then this is for you! I love both organizing information and sharing things I love with others, so I’m really looking forward to working on this. ❤️

I love fics that manage to be both freakyhot and also legitimately cute and sweet. This one does both so, so well! Honestly one of my absolute favourites of the dragon/fox genre.

A short, beautifully written meditation on LWJ’s grief. It’s the kind of heavy angst that only works for me because there is an impossible, happy ending also included. Just really well done.

I’ll admit I had certain expectations when I saw that this was a Valerian/Mandrake pairing in the Kushiel’s Dart world, but much like the Carey books, the punch in this fic came from the emotions, not the sex. Without spoiling too much, I’ll say that the line in this fic I’ll always remember is the one which explains the title. I felt things! It’s just so well done.

This fic is so funny, I can’t handle it. The humour is both overt and subtle, the tension is great, and there’s ART! Seriously, amazing art. The writing and characterization are good and there’s really not much else I could possibly ask for.

I read this one while I was on vacation, and I just ate it up. I’ve read a bunch of time travel fix it fics and I think they can be tough - often not enough is fixed to make me happy, or it feels unrealistic. (Unrealistic? In a time-travel fic about a fantasy universe? Impossible!) But this one manages to fix, like, everything - EVERYTHING! Even the things I didn’t know I wanted to be fixed! - with strong enough writing and characterization that I wasn’t rolling my eyes at any of it. Really well done!

This fic is just unbearably cute. And sweet. And pure. Exactly what I want to read when I’m feeling delicate and I just want to feel a little better about the world.

I’m usually pretty neutral on monsterfucking (which somehow feels MORE depraved than having a strong opinion one way or other?) but this fic is so so good. It’s written from the perspective of mermaid!WWX, which ends up being hilarious.

I just love arranged marriage fics in this fandom, and this one is a spectacular example of why. So much mutual longing! A perfect reveal scene that forces me to reread it five times each time I read the fic! Extremely hot sex when they finally get there!

This one was so fun. I read enough set-in-the-Victorian-era novels that it was extremely fun to see WWX and LWJ visit this kind of AU. It’s also a bit of an idealized future - they cultivate immortality and then go around being married and adopting strays. It’s adorable. Very engaging story, as well.

I just read this fic this weekend (specifically, I listened to the WONDERFUL podfic by Khashana) and it had me in stitches. I loved the worldbuilding, the gentle beginning of the relationship, and most of all the truly funny writing. Shoutout also to the sequel, which manages to make a play on a/b/o both funny and sexy.

I can’t pick an actual favourite fic because I’m constitutionally indecisive, but I am starting off the blog with this one, which may be my most-reread fic so far.

This fic makes me feel feelings! There are so many brilliant and touching turns of phrase that have stuck with me. I’m a total sucker for ‘unrequited love before a happy ending’ fics.
