I hope you guys understand.
So, not that I have fans or anything like that, but I know that some of you actually follow my posts and even send asks and stuff. And those of you who do that probably noticed my sudden absence.
I created this blog when I was unemployed. I was feeling really bad for basically having spent over a year looking for work, handing out resumes all over my city and never getting any responses. I mean, I'm 19 (turning 20 in September) and I still didn't have a job. I felt terrible, like a useless person who couldn't fit into society, who was falling behind, and a burden to my father (with whom I live; by the way, in Brazil it's still much more common to live with your parents after 18 than in the US, it's just that I didn't have a job yet that was unusual and that made people pick on me more).
So I created this blog because at the time I didn't have any friends I interacted with frequently, nobody I interacted with in person besides my father, no job to keep me busy, and no hobbies (since at the time I had given up drawing). I was sinking into depression again, so I found myself needing to do what I did during my last darkest period during the pandemic: cling to something I enjoyed and dedicate at least some time each day to it. That's why I created this blog. It's a hobby from a mind desperate for something concrete. It's silly, but it's still something, it's still mine. And it really helped me. At the time, I felt much better about myself. I felt good seeing that I wasn't so useless in society, that at least I could organize a small, silly blog that a community liked.
So, am I abandoning the blog? Absolutely not. I just need some time to get organized because... I got a job.
It's not the ideal job, not at all. Although I am very happy and grateful to finally get a job, GODDESSES, I am exhausted, physically and mentally.
I work as a bagger at a supermarket in a shopping. Iβm basically on my feet the whole time, walking back and forth, bagging groceries (some carts are really packed), loading items into carts, swapping out damaged products, weighing items customers forgot to weigh, moving carts around, restocking plastic bag dispensers, and so on. I work six days a week: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday through Thursday, 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Sundays (don't ask me how this doesn't violate Brazilian labor laws, lol). Add to that the commute, it takes me an hour and a half by bus to get there, which basically means my job eats up half my day.
But like I said, I don't intend to abandon this blog; I just need time. Time to get used to my job, time to better organize my routine now that my available time has been cut in half, time for everything to fall into place. I'm still following and watching 100 Kanojo, I still love the anime and manga, and I plan to keep dedicating some time to them whenever I can. By the way, remember that OC I said I was working on? I've actually done a few drawings of her during my work breaks, lol. I'll be back; I will, when I can.
