Kessick designed this built-in wine cabinet for a customer who was having extensive remodeling done to his historic craftsman bungalow by the design built firm of O’leary-Cole (www.treycole.com). Kessick provided the plans and consultation wine racking and CellarPro cooling system. The builder constructed the space, put in the proper insulation and vapor barrier, and installed a standard off-the –shelf pre-hung door unit. The perimeter box construction of the wine racks are designed and constructed to butt into the edge of the door jamb, creating the feel of reaching into a cabinet when you open the door. The design has the wine cellar 8” off the finished floor so that the baseboard runs down the wall uninterrupted, giving the wine cabinet a built-in, un-crowded feel. The cooling system in mounted above the wine racks and is exhausted into a side utility room.

Sleek contemporary stainless steel rods support and suspend wine bottles via blocks of ebony stained and lacquered hardwood. Back-lit with LED lighting, the Vinium creates a highly visual, artistic presentation of wine. Each wine cellar is designed and engineered to be a stunning one-of-kind showpiece. The Vinium Series is a collaboration of Kessick LLC and Charles River Wine Cellars.
