Fanart of Cibo from Blame! by Tsutomu Nihei
Poison Miku from the Project Voltage crossover
Hi Alice! Your models are amazing 😍 Are there any resources you would recommend to study for achieving this style? I've just started dabbling in character modeling with Blender and would love to come even a bit close to how yours look!
Thank you ❤️ and sorry for my late answer! Here's a few youtube videos I used to help me establish my current style:
Also the Genshin Impact developers have a few of their models available to download, studying their topology has helped a lot when it comes to modeling anime style characters : https://genshin.hoyoverse.com/ja/news/detail/104561 I hope it can help you too!
Your 3d models are so incredible! I couldn't believe how good the Miku ones look spinning, you could pause on any frame and I would have thought it was a 2d illustration!
Aww thank you! I love trying to make my models look like it's 2D, so I'm very happy to hear that ❤️
Would you ever be able to show ur hand topology? I've been struggling recently and it's hard for me to find resources/tutorials on hands so I was just wondering!
I'm going to be honest, I'm not the best at hand topology either. It's the hardest part to get right and I'm generally very lazy about it lol
My general advice is to try and keep all your poles and triangles on the back of the hand (as this part of the mesh is not going to deform a lot when animated) and be mindful abou the placement of the loops on the fingers
Your portfolio is amazing ! Do you accept commissions for 3D models? If so, what are your prices? If you don't I definitely understand. 🩵
Thank you! Unfortunately I don't take commissions at the moment, as I'm too busy with my full time job :(
These days I showed your work to a friend of mine that uses blender a lot and every time they were "oh my god" "oh wow! This is so good!"
You inspired me to try to dip back in blender once more and do my own concepts! I suck but doing my best!!
Also, are all your models sculpted first and then you make the retopo for them or do you poly model too?
Thank you so much for the kind words! 3D has a really steep learning curve, don't feel bad about sucking at first! We've all been there. For my models I usually do a mix of sculpt then retopo and poly model. For example I almost always scult the hair because it's much easier to do it this way and retopologize it afterwards than doing it entirely in modeling. I hope this helps!

(The timing of this fanart is completely coincidental as I started working on it long before the announcement of Rooster Teeth's closure. Either way my heart goes out to all the employees, especially the people working on RWBY)
