hi it's fic time

another reread this time around. for prompt "A fic with two or more authors" i had to immediately go for my goat: A Life To Heal by @kestrelgreys and @hartlesshart (hi hope you don't mind the ping)

obligatory ongoing fic disclaimer but eh who cares. more importantly SPOILERS!!! THIS IS AN AFTER CANON FIC!!!!! YOU ARE WARNED!!

scielune. where else would i ever start from. this is a post canon (specifically post Verso's ending) fic set in a destroyed canvas with Lune as its only survivor. as she tries to grapple with this new situation, she quickly figures out she now has the new ability to restore it: and begins so by bringing back Sciel. now the two of them embark on a journey to slowly but steadily bring back the canvas. from the fic's summary:

Expedition 33 overcomes countless obstacles only to face erasure of their world at the hands of the Dessandre family.

And yet, somehow, Lune wakes up in a wasteland with nothing but ghosts for company.

Set after the events of the "A Life to Live" ending of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Life to Heal follows the last two surviving souls of Lumiere, who find that healing the world must also include healing themselves.

this was the first e33 fic i picked up before i even started writing mine. the premise is so haunting yet treated so beautifully, i am OBSESSED with the way Painting is described in this story especially when it's Lune and Sciel working in tandem, it's so pretty and ethereal and i love it being put through the medium of song and dance. i also like the way their relationship is treated: it's an appropriate amount of slow(er) burn, in my opinion, and doesn't go exclusively smoothly because yeah people are like that. it also has the bonus of a lot of art being made for it! i eat it up every single time. huge on the worldbuilding with this one especially but if your interest mostly gravitates towards the ship id still recommend it anyways

The brainrot continues! This chapter's real name is called Gay Shit. Ever since we started this story, we knew we wanted a vignette episode. well here it is.

Lune and Sciel set off into the wastes in search of chroma. And as they embark on a new chapter together, they begin to explore the different forms love can take. 

@kestrelgreys did a phenomenal job switching between their perspectives. I am so in love with how she wrote this one.
