Album 2: Beyond Good and Evil - (Tally Hall)
Rating - (4/5)
Fav Songs - (Never Meant to Know, Turn the Lights Off, Out in the Twilight, Cannibal)
There were only two albums from these guys so I figured I’d just hit em’ both up at the start. A bit of a dip in comparison; I think this album seems more coherent in style, which makes a few of these songs POP, especially compared to Marvin’s. That being said, I think the fun of Marvin’s was in that disparateness between music. It feels like more of a collaboration between different artists than this one does y’know? Not that that changes my esteem of it much, Never Meant to Know and Turn the Lights Off practically guaranteed that this would be high even if the rest wasn’t up to snuff.
Album 1: Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum - (Tally Hall)
Rating - (4.5/5)
Fav Songs - (The Bidding, Ruler of Everything, Greener, Banana Man, The Whole World and You, Hidden in the Sand)
I’d listened to a few Tally Hall songs before hitting up both albums early on, but considering how eclectic they are music-wise, it wasn’t like I could have specific expectations for it. That being said, with that eclecticism, what an album to start off on! A handful of some of the best bangers ever grabbed a hold of in the wider internet culture (The Bidding, Hidden in the Sand, etc…) alongside some really weird shit that I could only just sit back and appreciate with a huge grin on my face. Banana Man is so fucking funny and also the crown earworm of my heart here. Not exactly a 5, but maybe with time it could be!
[guy whose bedtime is approaching fast] I need to write one billion words right now. and draw everything that has ever existed.

not now kitten. daddy's realizing that the scene he invested 1000 words into could be significantly improved but only if he started over from scratch
Hi, its me. The warmest creature in the world. I love you. Im the warmest creature in the world and I love you so much and I need to be in your lap right now. Yes, I know about the heat wave. That's okay though because I was already the warmest creature in the world so I don't mind. I love you and you need to let me sleep in your lap right now. I'm soooo warm and I love you sooo much. If you say no you'll be saying no to a thing that love you. Let me sleep in your lap. When I fall asleep I get warmer. I love you
MY FUCKING CAR
she's platonic about it but in my opinion, stratt 100% treats grace as her dead wife. she keeps a tacky fox trinket in her coat pocket. there's a framed photo of him in her study . he's grinning goofily in it (bc he's a dork). new guy like: is that her husband? / no, dumbass, it's dr. ryland grace, 1/3 of the hail mary mission. / oh, fuck. were they... ? / yeah, it's unclear. black-and-white montages of grace messing around in high-level meetings play every time stratt contemplates committing more environmental crimes. she looks up at the night sky and vaguely wonders if he's enjoying his space ramen. that's her dead wife. she killed him.
glad to see we're all on the same page
